Whatever floats yer boat

Guys, this post needs returning to basics. Yes a 1.199 calibre will kill anything on the planet???

The question should be; What is the minimum calibre you would chose to hunt anything??

It has to be the .22 rimfire, killed everything, up to and including elephants

Arguments? ? ?

;);););););)

Sorry CB but you've missed the point. When I started this thread I asked people to say what calibre they would settle for if they could have just one gun. Most respondents have said either .22 CF or .243. No offence bruv but if you want to argue for .22lr start a new thread! :gunsmilie:

Fair enough mate, not intending to hijack or offend, just wondering when everyone had bought thier one and only gun how many would realise that not only would the have gone into overkill with calibre, but how could they justify a .243 etc for what most folks shoot ie vermin, rabbits crows.

Your point regarding shotguns is valid, after injury I have just returned to shooting. Have kitted up with .22 and hmr only Can't use 12g due to problems. I reckon I'm missing at least 60 % of shooting oportunities.

Good reply bruv. I thought there'd be more support for HMR as a sensible compromise between 22lr and CF but hey - this was always gonna be a light-hearted one! Me if I really had to settle for one it'd be 7.7x56, 303 to most of youse. Underrated round IMO!
