martyn789 0
thinking of buying a transit crew cab,6 seater.Does anyone know if theres a web site for vans either north of ireland or england.Ive typed in vans and cant really find what im looking for.any opinions on these vehicles good or bad?thought theyd make an all round handy family/hunting buses. try the auto trader on the net and the tranie is not that bad on fuel
borderboy 80
Any more info on these vans. The only good thing is the wife refuses to travel in it she says, cant wait to get one.I met a bloke today that has a Fiat diablo(not sure if thats quiet right)it was a 7 seater but he removed the 2 back seats and it was a right tasty looking machine.2 sliding doors at the side and a rear door that lifted straight up.anyone have any remarks/opinions on these.I am not a great Fiat fan but he couldnt praise it enough. I know a few lads who've had the doblo, they all had trouble with the ecu packing up... although i imagine they'll have sorted it on the newer models....
Rabbithunter 456
Can you find out what its like on juice roughcoated?I heard they can be a little thirsty. i know a man who has a 54reg tranny, 2.5turbo.... not sure about all the other specification, but he reckons he gets 40mpg

greatwhitehunter 47
dont buy a trany!! volkswagen transport are the ones or the mercedes vito or sprinter the VDubs and Mercs are decent vans, but cost about 3x as much as a transit.... you get what you pay for

Malt 379
i used to drive a transit tipper. It was a nice van to drive but the ones we had done clutches for fun. Maybe something to do with the driver, too many quick getaways...
mandog 37
Been looking at the vans myself but the mrs won't have it. I have researched them and you get around 35mpg from the transits. Alot of people who own the vito's say stay away as they are unreliable , and the vw are the the dogs bollocks. I like the vw carravelle, but the price is out of my range. jigsaw 11,866
what would be the verdict on the Fiats I wonder, they used to have a bad name long while back.
mandog 37
The verdict mate is fiats are shite but that just my opinion.
bullmastiff 615
I've been looking at the Fiat as a family/dog car, I own a 850 Volvo at the moment but Volvo's are getting smaller and smaller, so I can't go any newer than around a S reg without the boot shrinking! If you go to Turkey the Fiat Doblo is all they use as Taxi's, it seems every other car seems to be a Doblo? The driver that picked us up from the airport said he averaged about 45-50mpg (1.9 diesel) had done 350,000Km in it since new in 2004 and had never had a problem with it. (Regular services/parts aside) and he drove it like he stole it on the way to the Hotel!!! Only thing I've noticed with the 5 seater is the gap between the back seats and back door is quite thin? I don't know if you could fit a dog cage in the back? with the 7seater then no probs. Cheers Luke.
jigsaw 11,866
Bullmastiff itwas a 7 seater I was checking out, plenty of room for 2 carrying boxes and the rest.My mate from Dublin was on the blower tonight and his boss drives a fiat and again cant praise it enough.i think the stigma is still attachd to it from old days.Id still prefer a transit though. donk 12
Dont know about fiat vans but ive had a few fiat cars and they have all been reliable. Bought a punto for £200 4 years ago and its still going strong, got 110,000 on the clock and all its needed is tyres, pads and a new bit of exhaust.
