sasmi 0
Hi I'm a newbie here and I own an 8 mth old clumber. He is from working stock and is amazingly agile (goes over all our baby and dog gates) and very intelligent. Basic obedience has been fine and his recall is great. The main problem is that he gets bored of retreiving very quickly. Any suggestions how to make it more interesting for him? I have been in touch with a local gun club and hope to start training with them soon, this is just to try and keep him busy. Any other suggestions for activities we can do over the park or down the woods? Thanks. Quote Link to post
Beechessam 0
If the dog is getting bored there are two alternatives. Reduce the number of retrieves he is given or make them more challenging. Once I have a dog retrieving well I do very little practice with it, maybe a few a week to stop it getting rusty. Quote Link to post
ROB.BOB 21
always leave him asking for more.... do maby 2 retrives and then leave it... 2-3 days, make it more of a treat than a chore.... Quote Link to post
