Guest remmy
I got in contact with a guy off the hunting life at the end of april he was trying to get into stalking but having no joy at all very kean and a top bloke, so I invited him to come out with me for a stalk to watch what went on, on our first outing we saw plenty of deer but never managed getting a shot, I told him stalking is like salmon fishing just because your quarry there it don't mean your going home with one, if it was that easy everyone would be doing it, he enjoyed his morning and asked when he could come out again, so we arranged the next night, we got set up in front of a nice mature wood and waited for a buck, I had seen a nice buck working in the area so we had a good chance, after about half an hour a doe came out and following her was the buck, paul started shacking like mad watching the buck buck fever was kicking in big time, I told him to keep watching as I was about to shoot it, 145yd chest shot he ran twenty yards then fell over, Paul was now shaking like a dog shiting razor blades, I did the gralloch and explained everything you look for, it took him a week to get the smile off his face, since then Paul has got himself a rifle and been banging target as if there going out of fashion, I said that I would take him out for his first buck, well after allot of practice on a roe target he was ready for the real thing so this morning I took him out, we got layed down facing a big plantation where I knew there was allot of trade, three bucks and a doe were already out when we got there, but couldn't get a shot on them for a farm buildings so they just fed back into the wood, after about an hour and a half a nice buck walked out onto the plantation some 130yds off Paul started to shake I calmed him down and told him to get ready he zoomed his scope up and got steady waited for a broadside shot, the buck walked out fraying a tree then stood perfect nows your chance mate shoot the bugger, with that he did perfect chest shot the buck jumped then ran off 50yds and collapsed in a heap , you should have see the grin on pauls face shacking like it was minus 50, we chambered another round and went to look at his trophy, a very nice mature six pointer , Paul did the gralloch and dragged the bugger back to the truck, I also managed a buck this morning so one each and a morning he will never forget, i let him have the beast for his freezer he was well pleased with his first ever deer and a freezer full of venison, its was very rewarding to take him out and get him his first ever deer and first roe buck, i have now been stalking for some twenty odd years and will never forget my first buck, we had a great morning good crack and a first class result. will post the pics later.
