noddy6560 0
rescue in Aberdeen area had to close down some 6 months after opening, it was a council house and he had not got permission, council got an annonymous letter from a neighbour, that was also sent to the local paper, complaining that she was concerned for her safety as hundreds of maurading ferrets could get into her bedroom and attack her whilst she slept (he had and were all in hutches , locked inside. Was given 1 week to get rid of the ferrrets or loose his home. He has now moved house and restarted Quote Link to post
Cold Ethyl 63
Im off to the lawyers tommorow lol we will see what he has to say about it.I did get permission before i got them to be on the safe side but now the daft bints full of how they are dangerous animals and so on lol.I tried explaining that they are ferrets not flippin grizzly bears but she wasnt listenin. So i have a good lawyer who should hopefull be able to get it sorted. She also claimed that the odd mouse i get here may be cos the ferrets are here rofl.Clearly she knows f all about ferrets.I will fight till the death over this Quote Link to post
auld salmon 28
there are some feckn idiots in life have you got the written permission ? they have to have a good reason to get rid ie a dog barking all day or a ferret mauling someone which i dont think would ever happen assholes Quote Link to post
Cold Ethyl 63
I never got it in writing but Last year it was claimed a small boy was bitten by one of them and i was told to take them in the house by the same women pointed that out if i hadnt been given permission id have been told there and then to get rid of them.Apparenlty the little brat who "got bitten"was on my balcony pokin his finger through and never had a mark on him no stitches no nothing.I explained if he had have been bitten he still be attached to the door of the hutch and what was he doin on my balcony anyway?I sorted that and as far as i was concerned would never hear of it again. Now theyre saying theyre dangerous and so on,So gonna take a picture and photoshop it showing them in balaclavas weilding a machine gun lol.The another with a hanibal mask.Shes just a pig ignorant shit with no one else to bug.She says her only reason is theyre not domesticated animals Quote Link to post
rangers 0
print out a page that tells you about how ferrets were domesticated and take it to someone higher up than her . Quote Link to post
droid 11
If you want some proof as to how long ferrets have been domesticated animals, there's a very interesting little book here: Williamson, T. (2006): The Archaeology of Rabbit Warrens, Shire Publications Ltd, Princes Risborough. On page 7 there's a medieval illustration of a couple of women entering a ferret and netting a bury.....and one cheeky little bugger exitting an unnetted hole Quote Link to post
TIMMAY 6
As said before wild and dangerous animals are designated by the government, under the Dangerous and Wild Animals Act. Got the list of species on the defra website, here's the link (can't see ferrets on it!!!): http://www.defra.gov.uk/wildlife-countrysi...dwaa/review.htm Click on the schedule of species for the list, hope this helps.
