See www.irishgameandcountryfair.com Apart from one of the best race courses for lurchers in the country the whole estate is open to the family ( normally costs €10) and Terrier & Lurcher men get in both days for the price of one if they pay in advance. It has one of the best range of gun & tackle stands in the country and defintely the top prizes for gundogs, clay shooting, fishing and terriers and lurchers. It is organised by the same team who run Shanes Castle on the 27th/28th June 2009 www.irishgamefair.com 21st All Ireland Terrier & Lurcher Championships there with two top English judges and over £1400 in prizes. I hope Birr has similar prizes - hear the top gundog at Birr last year got a €7,000 dog trailer and a €1200 dummy launcher - Apparently the Top Gundog at Moira got nothing - apparently the prizes "didn't arive on time!" Yes! We had 2 great days out at Moira at the Lurcher and Terrier show, despite the rain. Same organisers are running the show in Ballinlough Castle in Westmeath on 18/19 July so I have no doubt the Lurchers and Terriers will be well organised there too. Yes! We had 2 great days out at Moira at the Lurcher and Terrier show, despite the rain. Same organisers are running the show in Ballinlough Castle in Westmeath on 18/19 July so I have no doubt the Lurchers and Terriers will be well organised there too.
