breffni 3
Its,if your target is moving, you have to swing your gun at the same speed as your target without stopping as you pull the trigger.Keep on swinging your gun, even if your target goes down.Just try it! Am shit as explaining things!!!!!!!!!! Quote Link to post

Guest Scuba1
Here is the reason why. Most people new to shooting will have a kind of reflex of putting the gun down as soon as they have pulled the trigger. This gets to such a bad habit, that pulling the trigger and putting the gun down become one movement. On a centre fire rifle this is not as noticeable as with an air rifle because the lock time is a hell of a lot shorter. What happens is, that one takes the gun of its aim point before the projectile has left the barrel, thus becoming very inaccurate. On a rifle with a kick people start to develop a flinch as well due to this, because the rifle will give you more of a punch, if not held to the shoulder properly. So by following through you basically keep everything in place till its well and truly over. HTH Michael Quote Link to post

Yes the moving target is the difference however you are essentially remaining in an aimed position with your weopn pointed at the target even after you have taken the shot whether it is a moving target - shotgun (continue to swing along the same arc as the quarry) or with a rifle static target (remaining in aimed positon on the target till after the round has hit) atb Quote Link to post

But yeah, I think everyone's summed it up for him. Thanks Scuba - good information to know. I always follow through purely for good practice, but never really knew the reason. Quote Link to post
