My dogs eat the same they did the last six times this question was asked :11:

Seriously though, I feed raw - whole where possible. Aside from game they get RMBs (raw meaty bones), tripe, chicken quarters (whole chicken when on offer), whole fish, lamb necks, pig tails & trotters, and so on.

I feed my terriers and lurchers RAW meat 'chicken pasta & veg and chuddley complete. Nothing above 22% protein don't believe in high protein think it makes dogs hyper IMO.

rozesky, just a heads up - Chudley's is packed with carcinogenic chemicals like BHA, BHT and ethoxyquin. If you're going to feed kibble you won't hear a lecture coming from me, but best to use one not preserved with chemicals proven to cause cancer imho

Later guys :yahoo:

just got a bag o that beta active delivered to me door today. was well surprised with how high the fat and protein contents are. 30% protein, 15% fat. could i damage my labs and lurchers by feeding this?? they are out every do walking either 3 miles roadwork, or plenty of free running across fields.

I feed all Raw........

Chicken carcases, Turkey necks, Turkey wings, Tripe and minced Beef, Rabbit, Pork neck bones, whole fish, and a couple of times a week with the mince I mix in pulped Fruit N Veg - raw egg (inc shells)- natural yogurt - and Cod Liver oil.

Works for Me anyway, The dogs love it and I can honestly say that since I have gone Raw, that their coats, skin and temperament has improved dramatically. :good:

Rabbit Hunter,

try giving your dogs The Rabbit and Mackeral whole instead of minced, they will love it and it muscle strength in the jaw and neck, it also helps clean their teeth. :good:

I would get him on raw meat mate but he should have a variety including the bones, and not too much organ meat ( that will give em the sh1ts) there are some good books and web sites on the subject if you are interested.

scotty

i feed all mine, lurcher terriers and a springer, on feedwell complete food. ialso give them scraps from the table ocassionly but only with not instead of their dry food. if your dogs are active and get plenty of work and exercise exra scraps will only benefit them. every sat they get a lambs as a treat,
