I dont want the meat to go off and the kitts eating it so what age for kits to be before cleaning the nest area out ? cheers the kits should be eating meat now , she will be taking the meat to them in the nest box Quote Link to post

The one 8,506
If your jill trust's you start putting some meat into the nest box for the kitts remove it in the morning and it wont go off i always start my kitts on rabbit at about three weeks old and if they cant eat it they seem to suck the juices from it and if you have big litters it reduces the pressure on the jill Quote Link to post
nym 0
Went out yesterday shooting a few rabbits for my kits placed one into the nest box at the far end. It was brill looking at the kits crawling over to the rabbit it didnt take them long either thanks for all advice everyone PS My other ferret whos got 3 kits and are 20 days old has 2 polecat colours and shes had an albino one as well. I mated her with a polecat hob ? and shes a polecat jill, didnt know that could happen. Thinking I might keep that one (Just coz its different) cheers Quote Link to post

The one 8,506
Aye even from 2/3 weeks old they will start on a rabbit i reckon it gives them a good start in life and reduces the pressure on the jill Quote Link to post
