Guest Hightower
I have a consistant problem with my "WHITE" lurcher pup, constant weeping clear fluid from his eye, no yellow discharge or ant blood. just leaving a big red stain down the face from where it weeps.. eyes are slightly bloodshot.. pups vision seems perfect. internal and external parasite under control.. any ideas what it could be???? Running 7
i do not know what is causing it but try wiping a freash cold tea bag on it for a week i know it sounds daft but it worked for my dog once and it wont do no harm
skycat 6,173
Could be a blockage where the tear duct drains. If it is constant I'd go to the vet. Often a weeping eye with just tears is as a result of a blow to the eye, but if that was the case it should stop after a few hours. Edited to add: just a thought, if both eyes are blood shot could also be some sort of allergy: pollen, straw dust: hay fever. Or conjunctivitis though this usually means a gunky eye, not clear tears. patterdale pup 0
my pat was the same no obvious reason got drops from the vet and made no differance he sugested a blocked tear duct and put a dye in the pups eye it should show at its nose in a few mins nothing showed so he sugested flushing the duct under an anesthetic.Took pup home and bathed his eye 4 times a day with cold tea and massaged under the eye down his cheek on the line of the tear duct, Within a week it cleared up and no probs since its worth a try and the young un loved it all the attention
