i want to start hawking

hi im realy in love with hawks and have been cince child hood ive flew a few

birds but never had one my self im looking to get a gos or harris and start

hunting could any 1 help im near stirling scotland

hi i been looking at them to mate for a year now tell you this if you dont no nothing about them forget it they need lots of care every day. feeding and they do need to fly every day to i no nothing about them but been hunting all my life and got the time but i need to go with some one for about a year first i just saying ot from my side.

The bird of prey section at Blairdrummond safari park do the lantra begining falconry award, which will teach you everything you should know before you take on a Hawk of your own from housing feeding etc through to flying your bird free, you could do alot worse than give them a call or better still go and see them and there set up, the guys are really friendly and know there stuff.

The fact that your here and asking says you are the kind that will do the right things and responsively mate... well done for that.. have a look at $%^&*&^%$£$%^&*( it has a lot more members in your area practising falconry,good luck with finding someone mate!

Hi ...why not join the bfc ....it will cost you a lot less than goin to blairdrummond...also you will probably get a mentor to teach you ...i joined the bfc a few years ago but ended up goin it alone...however saying that i had a mentor for the first year and they will help you get yourself sorted with a bird etc etc

EVERYONE!! has to start somewhere.my first bird was a harris hawk and it was an excellent bird and i was 10 years old,i fed and flew and manned it every day and it was an excellent bird.i had minimum imput from others just bits of advice off my dad and i read loads of books.theres 100's of books,read some and get set up if you are redy to make that kind of commitment.i dont keep birds anymore but if i had time i would love to.i would definitly not get a gos thow,too much for first hawk.hope you find what your looking for.atvb
