aaronpigeonplucker 32
why has my "is 10.13 ft pr pound enough to kill a rabbit?" topic gone. i wanted to see if i needed a check up from the gun store on my spring or not. aaron Quote Link to post
ian118118 10
well judging by your picture mate i think it might be able to kill rabbits. just a hunch though Quote Link to post
Sterry 0
if you've killed rabbits with the gun then of course it is ok for them. i read somewhere that it only takes 3-4 ftlbs to kill a rabbit atpoint blank so 10.13ftlbs should do the job at 30-40yrds. Quote Link to post
aaronpigeonplucker 32
yeah but dosent the spring where down over time? you can see the dte on the piece of paper in thg pict. wouldent the power have dropped since then? Quote Link to post
Guest air gunner
sounds like to me you are looking for an excuse to buy something new for your rifle. If that is the case ask your parents and get the thing tuned at the gunsmith The best thing my smith said once it was tuned was to get it skrew cutt and have a silencer fitted (i cant remember the make but it was a special one.) it probably got deleted becasue people were putting up advice on tuning it which is quite rightly against the forum rules. aaronpigeonplucker 32
the gun smith told me that it would need to be checked up within 3 months if i carry on shooting about 40 pellets a day (i am trying to get it zeroed) Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
I removed it last night, I haven't been on since Friday or it would have gone a bit sooner. Any mention of tuning Air Guns is against the forum rules and any actual tuning on your own can lead to them going well over 12 ft/lb especially when your talking Ox Springs etc. The best advice was given from the start, take it to your gunsmith and have him correct it to 11-11.5ft/lbs for you. aaronpigeonplucker 32
i didnt want any advice at all on tunning my gun i just wanted to know if the power i have my gun at now is enough to kill a rabbit quickly. if it wasnt then i would take it to the gun shop. i didnt see all the post on the topic so i must assume that the reason you deleted my topic was because somebody was posting on how to tuen my airgun.
