Guest Hightower
Thats terriers for you mate, it must have been a lack of early socialisation when they were pups.. Start from scratch, have a go at him for attempting to fight other dogs, put our foot down.. Look out for early signs of aggression, raised tail, pulling on the lead, a glazed look, and nip it in the bud!! ATB HT

matt11 0
have had a few fighters in my kennels over the years but wont have them any more they normally turn out the worst at work i have found.
lawrence 657
likewise i wouldn't tolerate a fighter, bred a bedlington dog years ago that was a nightmare, had to be treated like a pitbull, couldn't be let of the lead in the presence of other dogs, he would run pass a medium dog to jump on a larger one. don't think there much you can do to stop it once started, personally i'ld get shot of it. EARTOTHEGROUND 1
Early socialisation and plenty of it is a must for a young terrier ,although in my opinion very close breeding and a high percentage of bull blood can lead to a fighter no matter what you do . Bootsha 1,306
A terrier that wants to scrap with other dogs is no use to man nor beast, no matterr how good they may be at their work, theres enough good terriers out there that dont have that trait. The best working terriers I have ever seen have been the most humble, non aggressive dogs you could ever wish to see, but demons at their work. Sometimes it may be a socialising problem, tru enough, but also it can sometimes rear it's ugly head in certain strains of terrier. A fighter will completely f@ck up the balance in your kennells, also you might find in the fullness of time that you'll end up going out on your own for a dabble 'cos no other f@cker wants anything to do with you or your "fighter". Dont put up with it, weed them out and for gods sake dont breed out of a scrapper, chances are you'll only prolong the problem. Just my thoughts ATB WAB
jstewart 0
Just to let you know the dog has been socialised all its life, brilliant with hounds and some terriers when working, but when i have him out on his own for daily walks and exercise this is the only time there seems to be a problem with other dogs, mainly boxers, staffs and labs
Doglost Co-Ordinator 4
The first thing Id say is neuter him which I know a lot dont like but it reduces some of the aggression & also makes them less wanted by people who nick them. A dog thats cant breed is nt wanted. I know there's some myth that a neutered dog changes but not to that extent Hard once they start cos they dont stop. My lab hates spaniels after been attacked by one- both hate boxers & staffys yet the big un plays with rottweilers?? Other good advice & last thing to do is breed from it & carry on the aggression
