glamour 1
its a blast from the past mate,my grandad had 1 when i was a kid,it was a right tough little fecker,it was a awesome worker rats rabbit, did charlie for fun and lived to a ripe old age of 11,sadly tho i think theyve gone the same way as a lot of other working terrier breeds, either ruined by the crufts lot or sadly no longer exist,i hope you find some working strain out there cos if my grandads dog is owt go by they were very handy dogs how an earth would crufts ruin a breed ? lol its a show where the dogs are breed to the absolute best quality with years of pedigree generations , if anything it promotes the breed to the very best of what it is , have you tryed looking for a pure manchester terrier ? http://www.epupz.co.uk/puppiesforsale/all_...r%20Terrier.asp here you go mate all the best What a stupid comment. your right glamour mate, thats unless you were on about my comment No not you mate lol, that nob. craigyboy 1,274
No wonder the terrier world is the way it is,across the water!Im not tryin to offend anyone, but any pictures that i see on this site of working terriers, dont look like original terriers. Crufts has your lakeland look like a teddy.that a child would play with.dont get me wrong there is probly workers out there. But too the show people out there, ours are sh1t. There not a bit cute or wouldnt stand for a minuate to let a judge touch them up... theres shitloads of good terriers over here mate, dont know why you think otherwise,we all know the working breeds at crufts arent worth a toss,,and you reckon the pics on the terrier section look like theyre from crufts  Edited May 8, 2009 by craigyboy Quote Link to post

cúagusgiorraí 57
thts rubish i quote whats in the dog makes the quality of the dog what it is , what you put into the dog makes the dog what it is so you would breed for looks or working ability from a good 3+year old proven dogs?? i wouldnt just get a dog to breed Hi Emeera For your own interest, take a look at the greyhound. Here is an example of a champion show greyhound in the US. It is descended from coursing greyhounds. But this greyhounds sire line hasnt been worked perhaps since the 1890's. This greyhound is the result of a century of show breeding. If you look at it's pedigree you will see that one of it's earliest ancestors is Pilot. http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?showpic=11...time=1197195521 Now look at this Irish coursing dog. This also has Pilot as an ancestor. But this line of greyhounds are bred by best courser to best courser. http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?showpic=16...time=1197195517 See the clear difference the show breeding does to a breed? weasle 1,119
SORRY is this for real, are we talking about the little yappy black and tan things. crossed with a whippet or grey hound. what would the point of that be, what quality,s would that bring, that you couldnt get from a "working" terrier. As for crufts that show is were every body who shows wants to go. so you breed to the k c standard of course the show has f***ed up breeds. i know people that show whippets, they are not allowed to run because this would muscle them up and wreck there movement, not allowed to get muddy either this wrecks there coat. These dogs do well at shows. Good luck with the cross lads, if you carnt get one, by the way my next door neighbour has a yorkshire terrier very game dog!!!!  Quote Link to post
