A Free Education For All, my ar$e, since that knob head Jamie 'slavery chops' Oliver did that fecking school dinners programme, the bait money has risen faster than the national debt under Nu Labour, and your right about the quid situation between them and the spic ice cream man that sees fit to visit our street ten times a day, I never have any spare money!!

Is it just my kids school? It seems near enough every week they ask my kids to bring a pound in for something, if it's not one thing it's another.

Today there's a travelling theatre company in there, and they want a pound. When I was a kid, you didn't have to bring in money for these type of things.

I know a pound is only a pound, but I've got two kids there, and it's a pain in the arse remembering when or what they need money for. What makes it worse, is that the teachers jump on you when you go to pick the kids up, asking for the money, and virtually bollocking you in front of all the other parents for daring to forget to put your hands in your pocket.

I'm sure that the headmistress is a female version of Mr. Fiddler from Carry on Camping. Pound for this, pound for that, bring your own cakes to our sale, then pay to take the fuckers home again.

Grabbing b*****ds that they are....

Rant over! :D

Yep, same here Mal.....chancing gits.. Our headmistress sails very close to the wind in my eyes.. Expecially where 'Parental Contribution' as its called these days, is concerened.

That and my favourite subject, which is political correctnes... Boils my f***ing blood. That is what we normally fall out about.

One parent ojects to photography..no photography in the school.....

One child has a nut allergy........no nuts in school.at all.........packed lunches searched everyday.

One muslim child.........no nativity plays..no christian celebrations etc, etc...

Children used to publish the political beliefs of the staff.....ie all people who cut down trees are bad...........

Children holding banners outside the school...

I could go on, and on and on :censored::censored:

I must be working at different schools to the ones all your kids go to. I live in a city with a huge Bangladeshi community and we never get any problems over joining in with Christmas plays etc; I even regularly get Christmas cards from some. Having said that, in one year's Nativity play with farmyard animals we had to ensure none of the Muslims were given the role of the pig! :D

It was the same at the last harvest festival, I think I put a post up about it. :hmm:

Anyway, when I was in school, & up until recently, you used to sent the kids in with any item of food, tinned, or fresh, and they used to make a display with it for a few days then they used to take a few kids, along with the food to one of the local old folks homes. They used to have a bit of a sing song for the old folk & leave them with the food.

This term they were all sent home with letters asking for a specific amount of fruit each, eg, 6 bananas, so that they could make up fruit baskets to be raffled off, with the proceeds going to the RSPCA!

What the RSPCA have got to do with harvest time I don't know. :hmm: Needless to say, my kids went to school with a tin of peas a piece...
