Guest Frank
Got a call to cull a huge herd of feral goats a while back, that were causing major problems to several farms. 48 in all Took me a month to cull most of them, untill they went up the mounting out of harms way. Pic below of some of the goats culled, all shot with my CZ 527 .223, using Americam Eagle 50 grain hallow point factory ammo. Frank. Couple of head shots too. Quote Link to post

What i have found is this. Fellas that have been out with me before, have brought along their 6.5s, .243s, ect, with heavy soft point bullets, thinking that they need it for goats. They got a surprise when they had to shoot the animal 2 or 3 times to bring it down. The bullets did not open up at all, went straight threw. I find that goats are slab sided, (narrow chest) and take a high velocity, explosive hallow point bullet better. I use Federal American Eagle 50 grain hallow points in my .223 and find it knocks them dead. Very cheap too and well worth it. If i get another big job like that, ill send you a PM foxshot and we will sort something out. Pics of the ammo i use below. Frank. Edited June 25, 2006 by Frank Quote Link to post
