Vissertje 0
whats happened with the ferret ,has he taken it anywhere where it can have treatment ,sounds like an abcess ,if he really carnt afford treatment for his animals wouldnt it be better to rehome some of them then he will have cash to treat the ones hes kept Spot on Sue! How is the ferret now? I also think you're dealing with an infection or an abcess. I've seen it before with a ferret which had a wooden splinter lodged in it's throat. My money is on that. Or perhaps a piece of bone? Of doesn't this ferret eat prey / boney meat. Eatherway, I wouldn't wait much longer, the ferret I was talking about didn't make it. I wouldn't want the same thing to happen for this ferret... Quote Link to post
Cold Ethyl 63
Pdsa is your best bet if hes entitled they will see it as an emergency and provide basic emergency treatment till proof of entitlements gotten to them anyway. If not the blue cross quite often help people who have fallen on hard times with vet bills. The credit crunch is hitting everyone at the moment and i dont doubt he truely loves this animal but it does need seen and hopefully has been seen and is on the road to recovery Quote Link to post
max abell 196
Hi mate if your friend is out of work is there a P.D.S.A near you he wont have to pay just give a donation this poor animal needs treatment NOW I also find it very disturbing that anyone would contonplate shooting a ferret because it needs vetanary help its this sort of talk that gets working ferreters a bad name with ferret rescue some places for which i happen to be a local co ordinator for the ferret welfare society and am trying to fight the corner of working ferreters this sort of cheap fix dont help our argument I'm just being realistic if treatment can not / will not be got for an animal, i would rather see it shot than left to suffer. so am i being realistic take it to the pdsa or a rescue centre or even the rspca one of these societys will not see it suffer either this is 2009 if you have no money there are societys there to help your mate we are all struggling with this recesion there is no need for any animal to suffer Quote Link to post
