Yes, their is a high population of them their and a strong hold in Co. Clare. They are doing well under the protection of law and are spreading across Ireland well. Frank. I see them on a regular basis, at times its a bit like watching ferrets, but these characters are far more agile, even the young, amazig to watch. Had a bit of a drama the other morning at around 5 am , outside my back yard, got up to see what all the comotion was all about, saw a Pine marten with a young jackdaw in its mouth and the parents dive bombing it, along with about 20 odd crows .
