Guest CharlieC
Just spent a really relaxing day up at my traveller mates campsite. They pass through every year on their travels south for the summer, and again in the autumn on their journey home. Nicer, more hospitable and easy-going people you couldnt wish to meet, Time just flies when your sitting blethering and catching up on the gossip. I helped them hold the horses when the farrier came to shoe them and we chilled out round the log stove, what a relaxed pace of life, If I didnt love my home comforts so much I think this would be the way of life for me Anyway, I took a couple pictures of my mates Jockie and Carol's dogs while I was up there, his big mastiff type bitch is a stunner, She looks a lot like those Plummer Alaunt dogs, we reckon shes some kind of Bullmastiff cross, maybe a bit of boxer or staffie? Shes a good watchdog anyway, whatever her breeding is. He has a wee lurcher pup as well, Ive seen some of the lurchers Jockie has trained in the past and this one is in good hands. I like the wee shelter hes made for them next to the Wagon, not a bad life eh? These dogs want for nothing and have a better life than a lot of the pampered house pets you see nowadays lol

Guest CharlieC
This couple set off around March/April every year, and tour the south of Scotland and North of England, and theyre on the road for about 7 months. This year theyre going to be joined by a young couple who are new to the travelling life, and jockys going to be passing on his vast wealth of knowledge and common sense about horses, dogs and travelling, so they will be in safe hands. I thought about getting a vardo for my cob a couple of years ago, But I dont have anywhere decent to store it in the wintertime and I have too many dogs to take with me on a road trip, but I think one day I will give it a go, even if its only for a holiday.
