They have to have some border in there Jeff....Beardies don't carry the merle gene

I THOUGHT THAT, ITS JUST WHAT OTHERS HAVE TOLD ME WHAT CROSSES THERE DOGS ARE, THE FATHER OF MINE IS MCGREGER, AND THE BITCH IS A GREYHOUND CALLED JESS, THE THINK IS HE BREEDS FAR TOO MANY PUPS, IT TOOK A LOT TO GET OURS RIGHT BUT IT WAS WORTH IT SHES A SMASHING BITCH, BEFORE THE BAN SHE HAS TOOK HARE & FOX BY HERSELF BUT SHES NEVER SEEN DEER AS THERE IS NOT MANY WERE I LIVE. BUT FOR ME IT MAKES NO DIFFERANCE WHAT IS IN YOUR DOG AS LONG AS IT DOES THE JOB AND DOES IT WELL, MY BELGIAN SHEP IS 12 NOW AND SHE WAS A BRILL DOG ON THE LAMP FOR RABBITS AND FOX. jeff

do you noy think that there is to much coat on the beardie cross for our climate. the ones ive worked have nearly died of heat exhaustion trying to cool down even on a cold day, they suffer to much panting even though they are as fit as you can get them.they would be all right in a colder climate.

Whats strange is that our Stags have a rough to broken coat, and they have ran hares in 75F and although they have been hot, once they have had a wash down with cold water and rapped in a cold towel, after five minutes they have been ready for another (but i have never ran them again in that heat!...no hare is worth my dogs health)..

But the best weather for the Stags seems to be around the 25-40F...should have plenty of that this fall/winter!... :clapper::good:
