I HAVE A 3/4 GREYHOUND 1/4 BEARDIE HANCOCK BITCH SHE IS 3 AND STANDS JUST SHORT OF 24 INCHES THIS IS HER,

she looks a very nice bitch

i have a half cross out of Hector and Annie he is 16 month old now. starting to work well on the lamp and taken a few daytime. stands at 25 inch to shoulder. its looking like he may make a decent dog.photo is took when about 12months old

They have to have some border in there Jeff....Beardies don't carry the merle gene

 

They do but it's harder to tell they are merle because of the long coat.

In the nineties, Plummer wrote an article about how many generations it would take after adding the merle gene via border collies before the resultant beardie/border crosses could be classed as pure beardies. Lo and behold, a year or so later, he claimed to have proof that pure beardies could carry the merle gene...and expected none of us to question it.

If you look on wikipedia under collie you can see that all collie breeds are capable of the merle gene. I don't see why he would breed Border Collies to Beardies just to get a certain colour when they already exist. I guess it's because they are hard to come across. Pretty dog Jack looks like it has some brains, hope it does good for you.
