Dear Forum Members, I am looking for info about my fathers shotgun. He has a Ward & Sons gun, used it for hunting but it has been damaged a few months ago (on the stock) and now we are wondering what to do with it. Other than that damage it is in a really good condition (barrel, trigger, etc). He had the idea to get a new stock for it but based on my research there is not much of a chance to do that. My questions: what kind of gun is it exactly? is there any value to it? Could we sell it? You can find pictures about it here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1t

Evening folks, long time target rifle shooter at county level and just getting into Both sporting and game shooting with shotguns. Whilst trawling the second hand racks of the local dealers came across this beauty and snapped it up as it was in good condition and I thought perfect as a mixed gun for a little pigeon shooting and clays here and there. Thing is the shop owner and his gunsmith had no idea what maker it was and the previous seller had called it a “finito” which was actually the final proof mark from the Italian proof house. So it’s down on my certificate as an unknow

Hi Fellas, Ive been looking to purchase my first shotgun and it’s a bloody mind field to be honest. Im after an O/U, ejector, Multi choke, with 28” barrels. Don’t really want to pay through the nose for one quite yet with it being my first and wanting to see how I get on with it. My concern is that I’m right handed but left eye dominant. When I use a rifle with iron sights I have to sit at a bench and use it left handed. So I’m thinking I will have to train myself to shoot left handed with a shotgun? There is a clay pigeon club near me and thinking of paying for a da

Hello, I have been bequeathed a single shot Pedretti 410 with a Hushpower moderator. I am not very experienced with shotguns but I have been trying to clean it. Unfortunately to get all the rust off the action I have damaged the blueing around the action so it looks like I will need to re-blue it. I am thinking of using the Birchwood Casey Perma blue kit. Does anyone have any tips or advice? Also although the barrel looks clean inside I have got some bits down it from when I was cleaning the rust from around the breech. So I tried to use an oily rag as a pull through. Rather than dra

Just bought a Mossberg 500 .410 hushpower version and it says it’s chambered for 2 and a half and 3 inch cartridges. I have put 2 inch in and they seem to load and eject fine, could they do any damage to the gun or have they just put that because you can fit more than 2 of the 2 inch cartridges in the magazine? Cheers.

It's got to that time when I need to buy some more cartridges, i was just interested to see what everyone's suggestions were for an economical cartridge for walking around doing some rough shooting (not "game", just vermin). I've been using Hull superfast but i'm up for a change. I would like to try some of "Proper cartridges" cartridges but where i am it's very hard to get hold of them... I know this will cause a lot of discussion but you don't learn by not asking questions... Cheers - Max

I recently purchased an Aguirre y Aaranzabal no.3 sxs 12 gauge, could anyone give me some more information about it (and a rough guess at what age it could be) as I only know a small amount about it . Also can someone confirm for me the chamber length as I presume it's 2 3/4 but I read somewhere about someone who had a 3 inch version. Thanks

Browning maxus, 12 gauge, holds both 3" & 3 1/2" shells, has a magazine capacity or 3 shells. In good condition, I've had it since new and is only 2 years old. Link below of video to give you more of an idea about the gun Retail price of £1100 I'm selling at £650 http://www.gunwatch.co.uk/guns/10909-Browning-Maxus-for-sale

Hi, I went down to my local dealer yesterday and looking at the cheaper over and unders and noticed a couple good condition 12 bore double trigger non ejectors at around £160, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with fabarm shotguns? There were also some baikal ones too. Thanks

I'm thinking of buying a side by side and I'm asking for a bit of advice. Ideally I'd like an ejector and single trigger with switchable barrel safety but on a budget of £200-300ish I know that I'm highly unlikely to get all this. My reason for this purchase is I have become a member of a local shoot and would like to take something other than my semi. My main questions are: 1. What make/model would be in my budget? 2. What make/model should I avoid at all cost? 3. When I pick one to look at what should I be looking for? ie: common S/S faults. Cheers

Hi, I'm 14 (15 in September), and I was wondering how old I have to be to get a shotgun certificate? Neither of my parents currently have firearms certificates or shotgun certificates, also I live on a 40 acre farm and have used shotguns quite a few times before. Can someone please help? Thanks

Had my Benelli Vinci Since July 13, really like it (looks hideous without the extension tube on) I've been looking for aftermarket parts, bolt handles, bolt release buttons etc, but I'd have more luck finding hens teeth! Has anybody else had any luck finding aftermarket parts for them??

Shot Size And Choke Preference Poll
SportingShooter posted a topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Following on from another thread, the old shot size and choke debate is still a hot topic as I'm sure it always will be. To show just how varied or common a particular choice is, I thought we'd have a poll, If everyone is honest and plenty of people vote, we could have some interesting trends, SS -
Hi all, first post. I am looking at buying my first shotgun, I have shot before, long time ago and I have no idea what I shot with. I'm also serving military so I am accustomed to using weapons. I would like a cheaper shotgun to start with and I am thinking 12g. So recommendations on makes models etc would be hugely helpful.

Looking to buy a new shotgun, I'm looking at a few semi automatics but while I was browsing a noticed pump actions as well. I'd never considered one before nor do I know anyone that has one. They are cheaper but I can't see them being any quicker than a O/U SS. Anyone have any experience with them or opinions?

Gunsmithing Question - Firing Pins.
SportingShooter posted a topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I had a bit of a confidence knock on Saturday when out shooting. I had two misfires in a row, with different ammunition out of my normally reliable Side by Side, the right barrel to be precise. I know it could be one of a few things, not least of which either a weak spring, broken pin or just the pin housing is dirty. I'm quite happy to remove the pins but this gun has "bushed" firing pins set into the breech face and a three pin spanner is needed to remove them. Anyone any ideas where I might get hold of one? Thanks SS P.S. Pins are set in like this;
