Hi, I'm Ray. I guess you re all familiar with the bent hazel and snare method of catching even wise old rats ! There is some good stuff already on here about this method. Rather than go through the manufacture myself, I am hoping to source some "off the peg" as it were ! Any one out there who knows what works and wants to sell me some ?

Have not posted for a long time now, but there is a probing interest within the animal bloody rights group to out right ban the snaring of animals and I state within Wales though not as yet in England, how do we as a collective argue against this? I can understand the argument that traps are more use than snares, but we have to invoke the use of snares when dealing with foxes in certain predicaments, or am I mistaken, please somebody tell me whether I am right or wrong, I do not want to look as though I am misguided but the latest snares do not kill but restrain the animal which is a good thi

hi. i am going to snare a rat i am wondering what wire i will use i have used copper wire but the we skitters chewd out of it . so i was wonddering could i use a pyke wire trace to snare it but what size? if you can help all comments appreciated thanks.

rats are predominantly residing in the hay stack, just feet away is the maize pile. poisons are out of the question(my question), trapping is labour intensive, shooting is much more fun............. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-LoGKe-fAo
