  1. I like plummer terriers they are canny dogs, obviously some folks will disagree, but at the end of the day they are what they are, a gutsy larl dog with a good nose, some will gan to ground some wont, but as a sporting terrier/bushing dog they are very good, ive had 3 over the last 14yrs and have a lot of good days/night out with them, 1 was £125 1 was free and 1 was £150, if the price is £400 well I think the blokes a mug, cos that's just sheer greed, in my opinion, a pup whether its a terrier/lurcher/spanial or whippet should only be sold for £150,£200 tops, coz papers mean f**k all, a blok
  2. There is a lot of country road's that i travel regular and so do the hgv's and i have lost count of the amount of time's i have been forced to pull of the road with these thing's tear arsing toward's me.. with them making no attempt to slow down..and on the motorway slip road's they don't wait for a gap they just force they way in regardless of who has to slam there anchor's on behind them..aswell as went they want to overtake they just pull over with no regard's to who has to slam there anchor's on yet again.. Regardless of that they should get point's like we do for using our mobile phone's
  3. sorry for yer loss pal, its not really a comfort other lads saying "keep yer chin up" but unfortunately that's all we can in circumstances like this, ive buried 8 dogs in less than 8yrs and none reached old age, and it never gets any easier burying a hunting partner, but you've got many memories which will bring a smile to yer face, im sure, the others will help ease the pain, r.i.p. jenny
  4. the reason he wouldn't have had a dog with him would be because the cow would've instantly gone nuts on first sight of the dog, the cow and calf were most likely in a shed or separated field so no real need for a dog. what a lot of folks don't realise is "suckler cows" a e left to there own devices for the most part and only interacted with when dosing/drenching or treatment is needed, whereas milking cows are in contact with the farmer twice a day, but also a main factor is the breed, every cow gets protective of there new borns regardless of breed but the the "suckler cow" is in a different

  6. its 1 thing getting called out for a nuisance fox and cubs or an over populated rabbit problem, but I don't agree with killing stuff this time of year for the hell of it,coz its the same folk that complain in winter there is nowt about,

  9. yer right smash this dog aint got nowt to do with me, and i dont give a flying fook about you or anyone else on here but it always makes me laugh when some bloke is shifting a dog and someone thats allegedly interested has the cheek to tell the seller to ring them,if i was interested in a dog i wouldve rang straight away and not asked them to ring me, that alone tells alot about a bloke, i hope the dog gets a good home, whether its with you or someone else, i aint here to spoil a blokes thread, just thought yer reply was fecking lazy,

  14. out of curiosity how did they turn out
  15. wouldve thought the pups would be more handier if they were brought us as hounds and reared as hounds, and entered the pack as young hounds would(be lighter built than a hound maybes), bringing up as a lurcher i'd imagine they could be too heavy with the tendancy to give tongue when in persuit,
  16. my brother has been into it for 20+yrs, they are a reconised breed, registered with the hound trailing assco they arent given a big meal right after the race, its jus abit of incentive, usually a bit of tripe or gingerbread still popular but as been said not nearly as popular as 20 yrs ago, is it just up here in cumbria,i never gave it much thought really but just assumed it went on in different parts of country i wouldve thought a trailhound x grey would howl like f**k when coursing summat

  19. in this day and age things are tight for alot of folks, but if i want something bad enough then fuckit i'll travel where ever, i traveled a 6hr round trip yesterday for a pup, granted the pup was free, but i used £60 worth of fuel, but at the end of the day i'll spend that on fags every week, which is £3000+ a year, what im saying is what the f**k is £75-£100 on fuel for the right dog that your gonna have for years... its nothing. not having a dig at anyone just my view on it,cheers HF
