  1. you have work harden the metal around the hole, you could do some of the above or try a masonry bit sharpened on a green grit wheel drill slow and keep coolant on and it should work or if you know someone who works in a good toolroom get the holes sparked out on a spark erroder it does not matter how hard your blade is it will spark it out and not ruin your hardness as it is done in a bath of oil.
  2. if u cant laugh ud cry Margaret..wont be at the game fair at weekend..hope u have a great day,and find plenty of oil..lol
  3. a beagle can hunt as fast as the rest, they can only run as fast as the nose lets them-a beagle is already low to the ground and can run without stooping the advantage of a larger hound is when he views charlie then he can realy step out.I run 3 beagle harriers myself and witnessed the 2 bitches on there own course a fox each out of cover last season and the fox could not make ground turn after turn until they where lifted by a lurcher not a foot infront of the hound. The older bitch hunted a hare for over a hour on her own before catching it although it looked ok how do you know if it wernt si
  4. yes they kick like fook, i had a bakial ou in early days and shot 350 rounds at clays 1 day and never even felt it then had various autos and then a 26" benilli and could shoot well with it won some sporting shoots and skeet shoots with it great little gun for walking game as you dont shoot so much ,but clays is another story it will kick and you start to notice it when shooting off more shots
  5. the reason it was only 150yrds is because two different lures on the day quit working....and the one that they finally used had to be shortened,as the line snaped...the final was re-run as it quit before the line, id like to see the racing over 400yrds, it would suit my lad perfect the longer the better! but why could it not be run the same distance as the all ireland which was run shortly after?
  6. countryside alliance arnt worth the full of your arse of boiled snow. sacs for me all the way
  7. the problem started when non hunting folk started 2 get involved, like keeping dogs just 4 racing.working dog shows were 4 people who hunt dogs 2 meet and have a bit of fun and a chat, see what dogs are coming on etc.lurchers are meant 2 have more stay and brains than pure sight hounds.would simulated with jumps over a long distance not proove the better dog.the master mcgrath at shanes was about 150yards the terriers raced the same distance that day, then the all ireland lurcher was run alot longer minutes later?? why was this???.even greyhounds have a few bends.lurchers are sight hounds crosse
  8. by the way my dogs dont sit off a yard and less of the wise craic full packs hunt here quite freely and we dig foxes freely and thats north or south thats why some of the huntsmen and terrier men relocated over here your the boy that said you pull them out which is wrong according to english law as yous arnt even ment to do that.
  9. well good to hear you got the minerals, but we dont fall under the same law as the mainland.i also think drawing with a dog wrecks there teeth but in some cases it has 2 be done its not all plain sailing even when you do use good terriers any one who has done any amount of earth work will know that and the odd one usually does no harm and its good 2 see if a dogs got it or not the minerals that is.
  10. Just for your record it's illegal to dig a fox without one these days. if u had read my post correctly.. i said where we're from!! and if you or your dogs dont have the minerals then dont go hunting
  11. just for the record guys but where we are from good dog men dont need to carry guns, but each to there own
