    It was the pups turn to get out today for an hour for its first ferreting session, I know a small wood with little 2 and 3 hole sets that are easy to do and usually hold a rabbit or two, first couple of sets were empty the third set I entered my favourite hob and in 2 mins a rabbit hit the net which I left to see if the pup would grip it, it didn't quite know what to do and by the time I intervened it had kicked it's way out the net and escaped, one for another day! Next set was a easy two holer I netted both slipped in the ferret and within seconds a rabbit bust out the other hole the pup was

    hes a deer grey x deer grey whippet 16 month old i get him out as much as possible day time mooching ferreting and Lamping he's no expert yet but he's getting there

    Took dog and ferrets on some new ground today, nice sandy banks riddled with sets, most of it the covers still dying off but we managed to do a couple of sets which were clear...no massive haul we only caught 3 and some escaped the dog when bolting from un netted holes because of the cover...but nice to be out giving some work to dog and ferrets.

    Some off the litter turn out big bully types so I'm happy how mine turned out more stocky whippet type it can turn on a sixpence so should out do my deerhound x on rabbits should make 23tts

    I found a new bit of Lamping ground a month ago must of been untouched, first night out with my 15month old novice had only ever had caught on the lamp before...first night on the new ground put lamp on % of rabbits just sat there caught two in same small field anouther in the next an the next went home happy...a week later same again and a week later five out of seven great results for the size of the place....left it a while and then every rabbit seemed clued up running soon as lamps switched on and making it generally hard work to catch one... Doesn't take much pressure to make them shy and

    My newest pup collie bull whippet x saluki greyhound is growing into a cracking dog she's fairly small 22tts at the minute, she's nearly 8 month old and good as gold now retrieve is just about there recall excellent, she got great take of speed she resembles a stocky whippet...really pleased with her so far she shows no fear and has great prey drive, her sire Jeff the saluki greyhound is bred down from lucky dark destroyer so the guy said weather that's true I don't no and don't really care I never payed over the odds for her... Both dam and sire were top dogs immaculate animals really looked

    this dog could catch as many as u dared to try and Cary. 23tts dam to dog laddy she could also catch any other game up to roe deer size if it was legal...never seen a dog with faster take of speed

    your ok if ya got a bit permission here and there lee it'll not cause us a problem, it's some of the local idiots that spoil it for everyone one else that causes it to get on top, smashing gates down and driving across fields! Few weeks back some lads we're Lamping not far from where I go and two defenders rolled up shot a dog dead it's bad when it gets like that!
