    Great book. My only regret is that I should of bought it 3 years ago when I got my first running dog.

    I have used pigeons bouncers to good effect before but they soon wise up to them. a small length of cane up the arse of a few to give a bit of movement and to make sure there all not in the same position is a winner, also put one or two decoys on a hedge or in a tree or on a bale if theres any about, to act as look outs.

    They still put the lamp on and slip the dog when in position so you still get the chase ect so it's still technically lamping. When they give the dog night vision glasses and you don't need a lamp that's when I'll pack in!

    Night vision spotter. The general idea is you can see the quarry with out shining a lamp, get into position then stick lamp on and slip dog. It will probably get you more runs when your after lamp shy quarry but may not be everybody's cup of tea.

    Done that over the last 2 days local An the mention off fox as coming upto lambing landed 2 farms out off 3 yes I get a fair few foxing requests

    Look for farms covered in ferrel pigeons then offer to shoot them with the air rifle. Shooting hundreds of rats and ferrel pigeons has helped me gain 95% of my permissions, I never mentioned lamping with the dogs until I got to know the farmers, once they trust you your away. I get permissions offered to me now never have to ask, sometimes I'll just shoot rats for months on end but they all give me rights on there land eventually just some quicker than others. I have night vision for the air riffle it helps to be able to kill large amounts of vermin in one go, I also take the dogs on ratting d

    Maybe the sleeping area is a bit big so they think it won't affect there bedding if they go in the other corner.

    they are inside ones you gave me, those others are what used to be a path to my shed, I've used them to go round them sides because I was a couple inch short they would of been able to eventually get out.I wouldnt be puttin in the tinterwebnet that I was a couple inches short fella! Ha!i make up for it in other ways pal, ha ha

    finally got my slabs down for the base (cheers ryaldinho for the slabs) ferrets are enjoying it coming in and out of there hutches as they please, just need to add pipes and various other obstacles for there amusement.

    Obviously the lads not been in the hunting game long, and he's desperate for some permission, most of us have been in your position Lewis at some point. Keep asking around and putting your name around it will come.

    ive ferreted easier mate! But no pain no gain lol. It was a good day, effort equaled reward on this occasion.

    First proper day of the season for me and Ryaldinho! One small hedgerow on a diary farm permission was the venue of choice, 13 rabbits, a bag of apples and 2 new permissions was the final result of a decent day and to top it off some of our young ferrets put in a shift, always nice to see the next generation coming through.

    Be nice to get some early frosts this year, that garden centre is calling our name!
