Thanks Walshie, yeah, sounds good.

Quick one, where's the best place to keep your cabinet keys, I was going to keep them in my external locked garage (cabinet in the loft, in the house), is this the sort of answer that the FEO is looking for? Or is it best just to keep them on your person at all times?

Yeah, put 7mm down as I occasionally stalk deer in Scotland with the wife's uncle, I fully expect that to be removed as I don't have any real justification and I haven't done the courses to stalk, not sure why I put it down to be honest lol. I spoke to my local gun shop about location of cabinet and according to them, Hampshire FEO's love lofts, even if burgled there's a slim chance of that being looked in, plus, difficult for kids and other family members to get to. Thanks for that Walshie, that's exactly the sort of advice I am after

Morning all, so, sent off all my FAC paperwork just after xmas, just got off the phone with my FEO, my interview is booked for next Thursday, excited is an understatement. Between now and then I have to actually fit my Brattonsound (Horizontally in the loft, as the roof joists get in the way vertically) and prep for the questions they will ask. I have put in for .20 & .22 FAC Air (Moderated), .22lr & .177HMR (moderated), a 7mm (moderated) and shotguns (didn't specify which on the form, so assume it's an open ticket?), does anyone have any top tips to make it all go a bit smoother?

Hey all, been a while since I've posted on here, I've made some improvements to the MFR, namely a CS700 Stock and a Leupold VX-2 2-7X33, proper stunner now like. Also just got back from a month in the states with work, so managed to pick up a Leupold VX-2 3-9X40, which is waiting until I get my FAC, I have my eyes on a .22lr Anschutz XIV and that's where that Leup will live ;-)

Morning all, currently in the process of moving house and I have managed to secure our new spare bedroom as my office/mancave, my first order of business is to get a gun cabinet fitted and progress my FAC application. I've been looking into cabinets but notice that most are for unscoped guns, all of mine will be scope, standfast a shotgun or two. My intention is to get a 10 gun cabinet so that my legal limit rifles will also be secured, then have space for a couple of rimmies too. Can anyone recommend a good cabinet that will suit, with a separate lockable top for ammo and bolts. Thanks gu

Yeah, I've always been a .177 man, it's taking some getting used to, wouldn't be as bad if I could use lighter ammo but my MFR doesn't like it. I've got some range marker targets, just need a day/evening that's not windy/pissing it down to spend some time on POI at various ranges.

Yeah it's close, maybe a bit too close, but it's spot on and don't really want to play with perfection. Quite disappointed with it not liking FTTs, that would have been immense, would have flown flatter and would have brought that ft lbs down a bit, never mind, still a really accurate, hard hitting rifle ;-)
-
Welcome mate, a nice couple of rifles you have there
-
I wanted to be using H&N FTT because they're 11.4 grains and would have been great, but shoot like a shotgun past 32 yards unfortunately, it loves JSB Exacts which are 13.4 grains and it runs really close to the limit with those 11.85 (635 fps), which is where I want to be. It's actually unbelievably accurate with Exacts so I'm happy, I have to spend a bit more time getting the trajectory right, but I'm out again this afternoon with it, practice, practice, practice lol

To be honest mate, I seem to have gone full circle with optics, I started out with bells and whistles and have gone back to simple, quality glass. My current scopes are a Bushnell Legend 2-7X32, a Burris Fullfield 2 2-8X35 and a Vortex Viper HS 4-16X44 and they are all superb, my only minor gripe is that the Burris cannot be reparallaxed, so is a bit of a pain at 8X but the clarity is really good. My favourite is the Vortex though, it really is wonderful and (according to some) on par with the Leupold VX-3 line, which cost two to three times the price. I'd recommend these scopes to anyone.

Good afternoon all, since buying my MFR in .20 I have not even picked up any of my other rifles, it has become my go-to gun. I am really enjoying the calibre and believe it's a great compromise between .177 and .22, it's almost as flat flying as a .177 and almost as hard hitting as a .22. I have since topped the MFR with a Vortex Viper HS 4-16X44, which is a truly lovely scope, with the TMB3 Sportsmatch mounts it sits nice and low and looks the business, I really am over the moon with this set up, it does everything I need it to. It's so good in fact, I am thinking of moving on my AirTech Reg

When It Comes To Tuning Whats Best

My has a v-mach kit and a tinbum short stroke kit fitted, it's a pretty silky combination Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -
Last visit to the perm wasn't a total disaster, managed to nail this big boy at 70+ yards, MFR & Vortex Viper is a stunning combo Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Hate them, there's a couple on me perm, they're too wiley though, I can never get close enough to take one out. If I ever do though I'll cheerfully be sending them a little 11.5 grain gift ;-)

Just took the new combo out and took a bunny 70+ yards supported, perfect headshot, I thought I'd missed cos it hit the deck so quick. First time out with the scope and using the 2 grain lighter H&N FTT. What a combination! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Vortex Viper fitted and looks immense, sight picture and clarity on this thing is simply sublime, really happy : Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

As I have already posted, I've just got a .20 MFR and it's great, only had one outing with it and there wasn't much about, so far very happy though. I couldn't recommend one enough.

Rez, tapatalk is the app that you can use to access all your forums in one place, it's great, it's just that on here it doesn't let you scroll past page one of a thread, really annoying, I've reported it but haven't had an answer as yet. The rifle is spot on, that group is using JSB Exacts, I have some H&N FTT on the way too, should flatten the trajectory a bit more being 2 grains lighter. I'll update with more findings Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Good evening Ladies and Gents, it's been a while since I last posted, mostly due to the forum not working properly on Tapatalk, but such is life. Since I was last here I have been lucky enough to realise a teenage dream, I have managed to get my hands on a rifle I used to drool over when I was a young man thumbing though the pages of AGW. I have managed to get hold of a minty .20 Theoben MFR with carbon shroud, tuned by the legendary KevG last year, and what a rifle!! I have also pushed the boat out and bought her a spanking Vortex Viper HS 4-16X44, which is one of the sharpest scopes I have
