My thoughts exactly mate ?
-
Can you PM me some pics please mate?

Thanks mate, nice to be back ?, I'll probably swap out the SAK for a decimeater I've got lying around, should be more effective with air ?
-
I didn't think it would, my bad, that's why I love this forum, get sound advice before making a costly mistake, thanks mate ?

Yeah, got a sub 12 .22 HW80 & .177 AirTech Regal too, wanted to try FAC air, wanted the option of 70+ yard bunnies and tree quarry, .22 LR is great for ground game, but far too dangerous for anything above ground level, plus the .22 air has much less ricochet danger ?

Morning all, I have just bought an FAC Rapid MK2 in .22, should arrive Saturday, very excited. This will be my first FAC airgun, I bought it so I can shoot tree rats and pigeons in trees, since getting my .22 LR and .17 HMR that's where they all seem to be hiding, sods law lol. It's running about 28ftlbs, which I'm pretty happy with, has anyone got any experience running a .22 rapid at that level? Is it worth upping it to 30? What are people's experiences with this rifle? Keen to hear your thoughts, pic below ?

I bought it off a gunsmith and he watched me fire it out the back of his shop, he said it was just under 1/4 inch small, but when wearing a shooting vest/jacket it would be perfect, so was fitted. I bought second hand so that if I don't get on with it I wouldn't take much of a loss when moving it on, my intent is to use it for clays and pigeons mostly, and maybe a driven shoot at some stage. I can't see myself not getting on with it to be honest, even if I'm crap at clays ? Oh, and they're around £1500 new ?

And more ?

Some more ?

Evening all, so, been thinking of getting a shotgun for a while as me mate started banging clays and I fancied a go. After much research and deliberation, I settled on either a Beretta SP, Browning or Miroku. I went to see a few but didn't fall in love with any of them, none of them felt "right". Until I found a small gunshop which was halfway between work and home, right out in the sticks, popped in and had a look. He had a lovely Miroku MK70 sporter, which looked brand new, I tried it and it felt right, he let me have a couple of shots in his garden and it felt perfect. So I took t

Yeah, hence why I said "in my opinion", side by side the T1X felt like a superior product "to me". I'm not knocking anyone else's choice of rifle, or their ability to hit a target, just sharing my experience ?

Morning Guys, I bought the .17 HMR variant at the weekend and got to say I am very impressed, put it next to a CZ455 and in my opinion the T1X was leagues above, short throw bolt is like butter and the single stage trigger breaks like glass. I'm very happy with it, and if I recall, it's cheaper than the CZ, though I may be wrong.

Hogan DecimEater Differences

So, Decimeater was great, however, I was paranoid about using a non-proofed mod, so I took my SAK back to gun shop and did a straight swap for a Swift Stumpy. Looks the business but have yet to try it out yet, by all accounts they are better than the SAK. If it performs well then this should be the last mod I'll need for this rifle ? -
I had a wildcat whisper on my .22 annie when I first got it, looked the part but was really ineffective, still had a loud crack out of the muzzle, shame. From the reviews on .17HMR and up they're supposed to be good though

Hogan DecimEater Differences

Thanks mate, yeah, the decimeater seems to be just fine, I don't think it's going to catch fire any time soon, but time will tell. I think plenty of people out there use air rifle mods on their .22LRs with no ill effect, the joyous thing about the decimeater is that when it does eventually fail to function, I can pick another one up inexpensively -

So, Decimeater does the job well, looks the business too, have to decide what to do with that SAK now ? -

That's why I put the link up, showing Meece that moderators ARE calibre specific, that mod is what I'll be putting on my .17 HMR. From the info I can find, there is no difference between the rimfire and non-rimfire decimeaters, just that one has been to the proofing house. -

Hogan DecimEater Differences

I only have one slot filled for a moderator, and I would rather keep those mod slots for mods I would actually use, that's all. I would prefer a calibre specific mod for my .17 HMR and my other two slots are .20 & .22 Air, so the SAK wouldn't be great on either of those, I will be adding a .223 and eventually a .308 or .243 at a later date, and again, the SAK wouldn't be any use. -

If the Deicmeater is better on the .22LR then it's pointless keeping another mod, there's not much else I could use the SAK on, I have four slots for mods and only one is filled so I suppose I could. I'll play it by ear (literally) when I give the decimeater a run out. I was more concerned whether the fibre would catch fire with live fire? -

lol, not quite, I have the SAK as a slot on my FAC, but it is down as a "moderator" with no brand or serial number, I did buy the decimeater for my Regal but it got me wondering if it would work on my .22LR and if it did then I could just hand my SAK into my gun shop and use the decimeater primarily. But if it's not fit for purpose then it would live on the Regal anyway, I was just thinking out loud whether I would need the proper "proofed" version and if there's any difference. Thanks Guys -
Morning all, just bought a Hogan DecimEater for my Regal and was doing some research on them, they come in the air rifle configuration and rimfire configuration, I am assuming it's in the air rifle configuration. Is there any difference? I know some are proofed for rimfire, but apart from that is there any difference?

I think they are made by custom stocks of Sheffield, I'm considering swapping mine out for a stippled, rose capped version, I'll let you know if I sell mine if you're interested Philpot?
-
I've had mine for nearly two weeks and I'm in love with it, I cannot see this rifle ever leaving my cabinet. I just bought 250 Eley subs with mine and it's a tack driver, what ammo are you using Dave?

So I stood about five yards in front of my mate, well out of the line of fire obviously and had a listen, it was a tiny "phut" so at anything further it must be inaudible, really happy with the SAK ?
