  1. Ey up folks sorry if this is a bit boring but hopefully it might help a few folk, we all get told about finding the right pellet for the gun but thought it might be refreshing to see some actual testing. The results speak for themselves I think Cheers P.s. Sorry about the windage
  2. Cheers Jok I'll have a look at that
  3. Always fancied trying to make a smoker, might have to get that sorted!
  4. I'll keep you updated mate. Yeh well chuffed with the price, the trrobb ones are £14+ postage for an unfinished one (not polished). I find myself a bit loathed to put much money into a gun that cost £200 new
  5. Well as an update just picked this up off the bay for £6 posted. I think it's one of the trrobb ones, and is in good nick. Wish me look!
  6. Some would say a lack of worms can be a good thing
  7. As mister gain says though you will probably find worms more effective
  8. Very nice! I can confirm they take bread too, there's a wee village not too far from me that has a small river running through where the trout compete with the ducks for bread. I've been plagued by them a few times when after chub with breadflake too!
  9. I think the standard LGU is more of a 97 copy to be fair, especially weight wise- but being just a smidge over 3kg seems quite a bold statement. I can't see another underlever getting anywhere near that weight? Struggling to find any reviews tbh. Didn't see a BAR one...
  10. You lads seen this beast? Same weight as a 99 pretty much, underlever design, clearly more muzzle heavy too (surely good for killing any muzzle flip?) Perhaps a bit tactical looking but could be a little gem to shoot
  11. I think vortek do some too. A kit with a bespoke spring guide and tophat to the spring you are fitting is loads better than just buying a spring guide and tophat that are supposed to fit IME.
  12. Looks in good shape to say the .45 has been through it Quality U keep em coming
  13. Glad to hear it bud, my mates gas ram is a bit horrid on the trigger, far too heavy. Lh will be well chuffed with that setup
  14. Nice one Jimmy. Do you know how to lighten the trigger on a lightning?
  15. Ey up folks has anyone purchased a set back trigger from Trrobb? Any good? They seem good value for £14 much cheaper than the rowan jobs (although I understand they aren't finished which I don't mind) Are the set back triggers even worth the trouble? I feel like I struggle to reach the std trigger without holding the pistol grip extremely high. Cheers for any replies gents
  16. Jimmy your a true gent that's a very good gesture and should be just what he needs to get her back to full health
  17. AO stands for adjustable objective. The objective lens is the one you don't look through. An adjustable objective means you can perfectly focus at any range, where the crosshairs and your target focus together perfectly. If they are not focused perfectly, you can get parallax error, which means if your line of sight isn't perfectly aligned your shot can be out. Hope that sort of explains but it's a bit of a head bender.
  18. Find the serial no. And send it to air arms they will let you know Must be a 1 or 2
  19. I love my Bushnell trophy 3-9x40 The mtc genesis UL is a belter too for aim points
  20. +1 for caddis, but as a complete guess. I've not seen them like that before.
  21. Nice one Mark good on ye for popping a pic up. I'm hard pushed to see any difference from your groups before but I can imagine the rifle 'feels' loads better. I've had a go with some uber smooth AA springers and then others that were just cranky to say the least, glad your happy with the work
  22. Quality idea that greyman. 25mm or 30mm straight will last well and have good power for 9.5mm steel, hex and lead under 10mm, just make sure the length suits your draw.
  23. Noticed the fresh water dead bait thing too actually, guess it's to stop folk knocking the native silverfish population down. I've had loads of pike in the past on shop bought roach and trout when sea baits were getting ignored so it's a shame really.
  24. If your dead baiting, move regularly. Change spots every ten mins or so, if there hungry they will have it fairly sharpish. Live baiting is good fun but seems to be being snuffed out by my local clubs.
  25. Well depends what you want from it. Longer barrels are definitely quiter, and make the cocking effort much easier on break barrels too. I don't have any way to prove it but apparently more than 6 inches of barrel and you start losing energy from the pellet specifically with springers. Haven't tested it myself mind. I've also heard that the old school long 77 barrels are supposedly the most accurate. Go figure. My prosport had a 9in. Barrel and was very accurate. My 99 is less so, atleast for the mo, and that is something like 15in. But there not exactly the same kettle of fis
