  3. If I were you lad I'd look elsewhere. Collie crosses can be very sensitive and as such can be easily spoiled by inexperience hands. I have Collie crosses myself and Have had for some time, but I would never recommend them to a newcomer. That is unless you have at your disposal someone who has the time and patients to help you with the training and entering of any prospective pup you might acquire. Perhaps a mongrally lurcher to lurcher with some Collie in it would suit you more. You shouldn't have to much trouble tracking one down there's always plenty for sale in the countryman's weekly.
  4. Ficam D is a professional only product, and the cost of a new DR5 duster (around £85 plus lances at £38 each + vat), makes it a silly suggestion for one nest. Call in a pro, it should cost between £20 and £60, as mucking about with it yourself could cost alot more than money. Alternatively, leave it alone if it's not bothering you much. Sound advice from mat there. I wasn't for one minute suggesting that you should invest in all the gear to treat one wasp nest that would as Mat says 'be silly'. Ficam is indeed a professional use product and should only be used by those wit
  5. DON'T! go near it with that foam shit, It doesn't work. You need to get hold of a product called FICAM D. It's a powder form insecticide. Apply it to the entrance hole and repeat it until you see powder covered (white) Wasps coming out. Once you see white Wasps the jobs done. Wasps traveling in and out of the nest will transfer the insecticide throughout the nest and to the queen. This will kill the nest. our best applying it with a dusty 5 a five liter powder puffer with extension wands. However I'm sure you'll be able to adapt something in order to apply your FICAM. At the end of the day if
  6. Keep it and breed from it next year. It'll be interesting to see if it passes it on.
  7. I'll tell you now fella. Most professional companies charge between £50 and £ an hour. Rentocrap will be right at the top end of that. They live off their name. long have they been a company of any value pest control wise. The company I work for charges per man hours plus fuel and prep. A recent contract for rabbits on my patch was sold on a 10 visit basis for £2800 per annum. That's for shoots plus ferreting during the winter months. We already have an existing general pest control contract with them so they got it at a discount. Just out of interest rentokil quoted £9000. A 4 hour rabb
  8. Now that is very unusual. I've seen ferrets of all shapes, sizes, colours and shades, but never have I ever seen a party colour ferret. Is this the first time you've produced one like this?

  13. My great grand father had lurchers and he and my grandfather had Greyhounds for both coursing and racing. It then skipped a generation. I started with a 3/4 Whippet 1/4 Bedlington at the age of fourteen. I kept and ran Whippet types into my early twenties. Eventually I got very disillusioned with them, always tearing themselves on wire and such. I then bought a very Greyhoundy Collie bred pup from a friend that turned out to be OK, but had bad feet. It was at this point that i decided I wanted something altogether tougher and so plumped for my first Beardie half cross. I had a enforce
  14. My dads bigger than your dad! he can have yours easy! Grow up fellas ah! This is a pointless exercise that will prove nothing. If you ran every Hancock bred dog against every other back yard bred dog in the country and either side won what would it prove??????????????? I have every understanding with people who don't want to buy a dog from Hancock on the ground of 'welfare'. If you don't like is practice then fair enough, but to say they're second rate, well that's just madness. Sure he'll breed some crap 'uns' who hasn't. Can any of you who have bred for any number of years
  15. Iv"e got a hancock bred bitch from a lurcher to lurcher mating he did. she has fantastic nose, faces any cover works on lamp and with ferrets absolutely top notch. Ive kept lurchers for thirty years and wouldn"t think twice about having another hancock don"t knock them till you"ve either had one or seen one work. Also you know that it is collie/greyhound not some hotch potch mix sold as collie/greyhound Do you really want to get involved with this petty squabble mate? It's laughable it really is. Just enjoy your lurchers and f**k everyone else. think most of its just banter

  19. Hi fella, You may well be able to turn up the Ftlbs, but the integral bottle only hold 40 shots anyway. The number of shots would diminish by quite a bit. Lovely little rifle though and as you say good value for money. For more advice visit www.airgun bbs.com. You'll find loads of help on there. All the best. Magpie.
  20. Just how deep does this prejudice go? So you wouldn't buy a dog from Hancock, but would you buy a dog from a lurcher to lurcher mating that had a 'Hancock' in it's breeding?
