  1. Cheers for advice looks like i will be giving it a miss then glad i asked first lol
  2. I think they jab for distemper and arent sure what else they cover
  3. This will be my first season ferreting, got a hob and jill kit from different litters mid summer so will be hoping to try them soon, was just wondering about jabs for them this is first time ive owned them so is it essential ? I rang the local vets and they give me a price of 70 pound for the pair is that about right or a bit steep ?
  4. Submerge whole bellys in a bucket of water mate to keep it fresh, chop it up with scissors if its for a pup, i usually make sure i use each batch up within 2/3 days
  5. The bitch i have at the moment is strongly granitor bred yes she has papers but her sire still goes to ground and her dam is a keen ratting/bushing bitch, i also owned a 'honest bred bedlington that has a history of genuine earth woking terriers behind it' but he is now in a pet home my bitch made him look lazy he also wouldnt enter cover when another dog was in there preffering to wait outiside hit and miss if he would enter when out alone, but as things stand ive only owned the two so i cant really judge as they are both individuals
  6. Have you got any measurments in mind mate ? If you have get whoevers doing your blocks for ya give you a estimate on how many blocks you will need and how much sand and cement they usually use with that amount of blocks that way you can get in touch with your local builders yard and get a price for the lot
  7. Ive got mine on gain puppy and sapling aswell mate but still mix it with a load of raw meats they soon bulk up
  8. Arent sure mate i personally havent heard of anything new out thats as good for bigger land dont know if anyone else has, ive never owned one ive been out with a few lads who use them and they do the job well for more lengthy runs. Strker 170's enough for me tho
  9. Nice strong looking dogs mate how they bred ?
  10. im using a pure bred Bedlington bitch for bushing at the moment she doesn't bark when behind game but whines instead, she works on scent if theres nothing In the cover she wont go in but if summats in shes in there, always keeps herself busy and seems half decent at marking aswell so will be introuducing her to ferreting this coming season, but would deffo own another for cover work
  11. I see theres no Bedlington class this year mate, I can understand why there was only one bedlington in the class last year and that was mine lol plenty of other terriers there tho was a good day out
  12. try scruffing. I tried it on mine they get it quite quickly
  13. mine did it all over the place then I got a ferret litter tray (shaped for the corner of the hutch) with abit of cat litter in. they took to it straight away. I just tip the old stuff out but don't clean the tray so it has its own toilet smell.
