I don't really know enough to be sure, but if I were to hazard a guess I'd say the doe is mated either on,or very close to, the ring. the ring is for a reason and I think it is to increase the does desire for the male, ergo, I think that once she stands the buck will cover her without delay. next year, if you remind me, I will get some trail cams up on the rings that are used every year. the rut here is definitely over IMO.
