Busy afternoon. Faggots for the pub guys. Spaghetti Bol sauce ready for tonight. Cottage pie for tomorrow. Apple and cinnamon pies for whoever. Not a bad effort. Jok.

Well guys I have to admit this is one of the best I’ve made. Next door neighbour came round for a slice and reckons it’s the best. I’m chuffed to bits with it. I altered the glaze by mixing ‘chili purée ‘ with the tomato and Worcestershire sauce. The venison tastes sublime when mixed with grated carrot, grated onion, smashed garlic and very finely sliced button mushrooms. What a dish. Jok

Been down that road. Started great with the spaniel hoovering about and little lad chasing him. Showed him the hazelnut trees, the blackberries and a few fungi. Long story short, my legs gave up and the wee fella wanted a carry back to the car. Need to rethink the strategy. Jok.

Odd that Arry. Was having a conversation in the pub the other day when someone asked if any of us knew anyone, other than ourselves, who had ferrets. No surprise because we didn’t know of any. Further into the conversation it was asked when anyone had seen a rabbit, dead or alive , by the roadside. In our area there are more dead muntjac ffs.jok.

Is there any need for mods at this time? There doesn’t appear to be any discussion about anything. No banter, no arguments, no rude comments. When I joined we were buying and selling all sorts of hunting equipment, me, Jok boxes among other things. Has the hunting scene really deteriorated so much? I, like many, looked forward to opening the forum to really enjoy the camaraderie and get involved in meaningful conversations. I’ve met loads of guys who have inevitably ended up at my house collecting, who I’ve enjoyed company with even ending up on days out coursing, ferreting, driven days, stalk

Not sure about this. I have 2 young grandchildren who annoyingly keep throwing dog toys up into the fruit trees. I have a 12 year old Springer Spaniel who now climbs the trees for the retrieve. I have some footage on video but not sure how to load it. Jok.

There used to be a pub, near me, which advertised big steaks, which, if you could eat them, came free and your name went on the wall of fame. Well as you may have guessed, I couldn’t resist and managed it. Basically 52 oz steak with all the trimmings and a sweet to finish. Being a beer fanatic the meal was accompanied with copious amounts. To this day I believe the wall of fame is still going.

As above. In the early nineties I used to boil my deers heads in an old boiler type contraption. I seem to remember that the name may have been Beko. Now I know it wasn’t copper but think originally is was a washer tub pre the mangle before the washing line. Cutting a story short, a good friend has tasked me with getting one. I can’t put up pics so just asking the old codgers on here for any info and ultimately getting hold of one. Sorry if I’m being a bit vague. Jok.

I think this one of the original fly rods. Greenheart. They had a distinctive red thread ring around the sections. I’m going to be shot down in flames but hey ho. Jok.

You know. I’ve made this for years. You would think I’d learned to be protective. However, I haven’t and still make it . The lads down the local bring in pork pie and other bits and bobs so I think they will appreciate this little offering. Co-incidentally I’ve just had a delivery of scotch pies, white pudding and black pudding from Stornaway and by gum it’s all good. Jok.
