I think that if you viewed a litter of Spanadors the dominant strain, should be fairly obvious. You should be looking at a large square head, as opposed to (sorry spaniels) a slightly more snipey appearance. Bigger feet. broader tail and obviously the colour. My Springador had a small white blaze on his chest, slightly smaller at the shoulder and built like a brick shithouse. Jok.

A lab isn't a springer and a springer isn't a lab . What a comment. Join the two and what do you get. Trust me. One of the best retrieving dogs I've ever had the joy to work with. Jok.

Had both. Labrador 'Black Dog' and springer 'Sweep'. Unwanted mating and hey presto. Springador. That guy gave me everything. Possibly the boldest thing I've ever had. No problem with cover, water, geese and every other game. Good family pet. Easy to train. There are plenty about. Jok.

Gardening Is A Lot But Not Everything.

Aye . It was Stevo. Give you a laugh. When I met him I looked and said something like, Where do I know you from? His response was ' You owe me £100000. Now , given that I was in the Middle East for a fair while, still not knowing who he was I must admit to having been a bit bamboozled. He , and his mate, also a well known commentator, unknown to us Union guys, kept this going for quite a while. Sorry but I could really go on and on but in the end all of us had a hell of a drink and there is no difference between Union and League. All sportsmen, rugby players that is enjoy the game. Jok. -

Know what. Your comment 'what's it got to do with living off the land'? Well pal. The Blackbird has probably contributed to the fact that I own the fastest ferret in living memory, 171mph, whilst in the backbox, possible the only ready made omelette delivered due to the fact that 6 eggs somehow did'nt survive a similar trip and that I regularly turn up at the allotment with loads of bits and pieces. Alongside that, as a rule, the guys need plenty of liquid refreshment which as it happens is delivered by myself, albeit slightly shaken and needing a bit of settling. I will be posting a collage o -

To be fair mate I also like bikes pints and a laugh. Just thought I'd change the subject just slightly. I also like rugby, trout fishing, mud wrestling, scuba diving and living with the apes. Hey. I'm only normal. Give s a chance. Your humour is not, however, lost on me. Have a lovely weekend doing 'your thing'. Jok. -

I think that you guys out there, watching this forum and generally having a good time, secretly have more to life than meets the eye. Now Me. HONDA BLACKBIRD. Got her up and running the other day, not that it took any doing, and had my first blast of 2015. 61 years young and still giving it large. You might live in South Derbyshire. You might not. Willing to have a pint almost anywhere. Jok.

Would anybody mind if I listed a load of good books I have available? Certainly don't want to jump on someones back. Jok.

Things are looking pretty good. All last years hard work has definitely paid off. All the other guys are using the rotovator but fortunately my plot has dug very well. That load of muck (14 tonnes)spread all over has done the job. As we speak, Iv'e 2 rows of Arran Pilot earlies in, broad beans. 3 rows beetroot, 2 full rows peas (Onward), radish, parsnip, which to be honest was a wash out last year, 1 row of swede , all my onion sets and 3 rows of Ailsa Craig. Spring cabbage looking good . The wind last night removed the polytunnel and just found it. One of the neighbours has it hanging on his

Canada Goose. Shoot. Take home. Stick it in any space you have for a day. Pluck. Gut. Singe. Dig a fairly longish pit somewhere in the garden. Line said pit with loads of dried grass and twigs, dry, preferably hardwood, ignite, Bird on tray ,cover generously with more dried grass and twigs, leave until the smoke has ceased coming up from the prepared chimney, Let cool, take out , inspect, and throw the ffing thing in the river. Hi To Everyone Involved Within Huntinglife!
jok replied to CELTICNO8's topic in New Member Introductions
Lovely. The thing is, don't just look at your chosen sport. The things you learn about country life in general is all there in the Forum. You might be looking at ferreting for example, (my chosen sport)and end up on a rough shoot somewhere in Goodness knows where. Ask the questions my friend and by gum you will get the answers. Jok. -

You are entering a minefield my friend. If you go down the road of getting a dog form a re-homing service, without doubt it opens up the possibility of non working background, cruelty (hence non compliance), no pedigree (not very necessary),unconfirmed age and goodness knows what else. Dogs which have been through the working dog programme would normally make the grade given that they have been bred properly and handled by competent trainers. These doge are changing hands for quite a few hundred pounds. The dog I've just taken on is a 17 month old springer from a broken home. He was bought to do

Suet and venison. Sounds good to me. Let you know. Jok. -
Don't know if this is old talk but I've heard it said that the last thing your birds need is mown grass. Also vegetable peelings etc , unless boiled are a definite nono. You might find a white milky kind of slash instead of a solid crap. Smell the water. good luck pal. They'll be laying before you know it. Jok.
