    I have probably an even lower opinion of SYP than you have and I'll bet that I have more reason to. The strange thing is that I've since met ex bobbies from all over the UK and their experiences mirror mine. And to a great extent so does that of many ex teachers and nurses. It seems that the system is broken beyond repair.

    Yes, I accept that. He's the same as people in fishing videos who make outrageous claims about their catches or baits. Or the preppers who are constantly preaching Armegedon. I suspect that those who know what they are doing find him to be an embarassment to their cause.

    Charts, I have been on here since 2015 4 years after I retired. I had been on for a few years before that when still working. I have never had a problem with running dogs or digging dogs because I don't support the Act and never have. The biggest enemy of people who loosely interpret the Act are those daft enough to post evidence of it on an open forum. And there are plenty on here including your protegy.

    You can't pull them up after publication on things like this. We had a dog that should never have been selected, but it was. 6 months later it had to go and was rehomed with a journo. Basically the dog was demotivated and wouldn't put the effort in. He ran a short article in the local rag about getting a failed police dog as a pet. That story was picked up by the nationals and exagerated. The international English language papers in Europe added even more. Within a week we had journos from Oz and the States asking for quotes about the dog who by then had apparently gone to sleep while chasing

    I don't disagree with the claim of up to 1,000 by Minter. It is the way that quote is phrased that triggers my suspicion. Journalists are always twisting things. The word fierce is I think a journo's word. So I wonder if they might have amended a lower suggested estimate with a high ceiling of 1,000 with "up to "?

    Everybody, member or not, has access to all of your posts. As was said last week; if you are worried about what you post getting into the wrong hands then don't post. And for your information any references to myself and Jimmy Savile are way out of order. What you don't know is that I fish and trap moles. Before I came to France I used to shoot pigeons and other vermin with .410, 12g, .22lr and air guns as well as trapping vermin on a shoot. Before that I ran dogs and ferreted on and off permission. I have had 52 years experience of field sports.
