  1. That is a smart catty pal, is it a custom? nice shot aswell.
  2. Was also doing some indoor target practice last night, 8 yards on a tin and 12mm lead wouldnt go through, m10 went through and dented the other side, no idea why, would prefere to use leads because it looks proper if you get stopped, hexnuts look improvised if you know what I mean.
  3. Haha you wait until you get a catty rig mate, wont be a woody in sight
  4. I'm using 8" bands from tie and drawing to 38" iirc, might be further, past my ear and just as my shoulder starts. They do go, dont get me wrong, I started using them for when I started hunting not to long ago and hit a feral pigeon 3 times under a bridge thats probably 4-5 yards high for there to be a puff of feathers and it still sit there, hit it with an m10 once and it dropped with a hole in its crop. Also taken squirrels with m10's no problem. Wonder if the 11mm will be better, travel slightly faster?
  5. 20-15mm bands? i dont rate 12mm lead at all if they are. M10 nuts do well. I'm yet to try 11mm lead my next buy I think.
  6. Oo them pouches look good, where can you get them?
  7. If everyone had that mentality we'd still be in the stoneage... lol Crack on lad, I'd be interested to see what you come up with.
  8. Are you making anymore of the mediums?
  9. Going to try cutting them in half, thank you. Show us a pic when you've finished it brass pins sound good.
  10. Thanks for the advice, I'm afraid a core wont work as I already cut out two designs before I read the comments haha can you cut hdpe board with a jigsaw precision wood bit?
  11. I believe shooting a through the fork set up rather than an over the top setup elliminates some hand slap and I've noticed on my over the top setup if my bands are to heavy for the ammo I'm using then I'll get hand slap. I think if you suit your bands to a consistant weight ammo you'll find hand slap will dissapear. I maybe wrong though I'm still learning lol
  12. I do like the shotgun shell idea, nice work mate
  13. Sourced some new boards, think they're serving platter things, 25mm thick, think its oak, will it be strong enough to make a catapult outof? Cheers in advance,
  14. Can I have the dimensions of it please mate, Overall height, outside fork width, inside fork width, Cheers pal
  15. Definately, thanks for the options lads. The topshot looks bang on, plus side could try tubes aswell. That is one nice catty, that. Id probably smash a fork first go lol. Another quick question, just buying all my band making gear, what leather do you all usefor making your own pouches? Thanks again lads,
  16. Don't think he sells the top shot anymore, its not on his site anyway. Can see this being an expensive month..
  17. Will give them a watch longers Ych, is there anything I can put into the chip to strengthen it like epoxy or something? Its literally just chipped the edge of the left fork. The first outer layer of multiplex has crushed and the second and third layers are chipped, the chips probably about 3-4mm deep. Which hays do you own? Whats it like sizewise?
  18. I had a pocket rocket 5, nice and compact really, was just looking at bills and they all look abit big for getting out of the pocket quick.. or in.. lol
  19. Nice looking catty that mate but not my style I need small, smaller the better thanks though. Tell me about it longers lol, nice guy but he just seems to piss around for a while. I cant fault him on replying to my emails, got to give him credit where credit is due on that. Have you got any experience with bill hayes cattys? Just thinking if I bought another board cut and got a nasty fork hit again would probably cry so maybe a poly or something
  20. Smashed my gamekeeper board cut fork with a hexnut... so not sure I trust it fully, wouldnt mind but it was my last shot at a pepsi bottle before I went home gutted lol, is there any makers selling on here?
  21. I'll try it in some 3x2 tomorrow, hope the lead just falls out lol, or do you drill the holes then rip the timber down the centre of the holes? I'll try it tomorrow if the table saw comes out the van and update.
