    Only ever had one on the Wansbeck in Northumberland or just off the river caught in the rough by best terrier I have owned up to now. Half bred Russell X Lakeland lived till it was 19 years old hunted the whole lot for mice upwards. That's only experience I had. PUD

    Just put this upon Keith J thread the Brown Rat as that's the rat we in the UK hunt. Any way most site books etc say the Black rat is nearly extinct now in the UK, then you hear their still some in the port, towns/Cities London Liverpool been mentioned and few islands and down Cornwall, as said am just curious if any one ever seen them in UK or hunted them?     Question lads the title of this thread The Brown Rat, but has any one ever hunted or even seen Black rats. Some sites say their are nearly extinct in UK then you hear their still around port towns/Cities, London Liverpool been mentioned also down Cornwall and few islands. Am just curious cheers. PUD
