  1. I got more than I bargained for with this footage but Its a good example of why you'd want a ferret to be old enough to work and It shows why a hob is arguably better. So for us ferreters I think Its a great little insight to what goes on down there. I'd like to show it. I'd just be careful with the editing, same as I kept dispatches off cam in the first video.
  2. Ill need to get a move on with the editing haha Basically I have a few small cameras and torches. I just reach down to place them at the side of the burrow being careful not to block the hole.
  3. Got some brilliant underground footage at the weekend! Solid five minutes of underground 'interaction'. Will be a while until the videos edited as I have only just started editing video 2, this footage will be in video 3. This rabbit is no push over!.....
  4. I use both, each of them seem to have their own preference. The bowl is heavy and I place it inside an even bigger bowl to stop it getting pushed around and it catches some of the water dug out of it. But my hob only digs the water if it's deep so I just fill it a little.
  5. Great photos. Especially the way you have captured the dogs and had perfect focus on the rabbits!
  6. Wasn't the first outing I tried filming, but didn't really get the shots I wanted. That day more or less went to plan, the size of the warren plays a big part. But hope to get another one filmed before the end of season, just need to see if lucks on my side again. I did want to demonstrate there is a bit of waiting around involved with ferreting. But have had the same feedback from a few places. I guess that video covers it, so any future ones can get straight to the point. The lingering underground shots with nothing to see was more about the rabbit thunder audio, I raised it to maximum
  7. That's what I attempted first, a small bullet cam on a harness. But found it hindered the ferret too much and I felt a bit sorry for him. Ill try it again in the future.
  8. I think it will be the camera that puts them off, I can set the camera behind the hole but I quite like the view from the front. Also wonder if they can hear the camera operating with their great hearing. Yeah it is Andys nets haha well recognized!
  9. Thanks guys. Yeah I was in two minds when editing about the slow bits, I'll keep the feedback in mind for future videos.
  10. Hey guys. Sorry this is not a write up, but is rather a report in video form. I've left the net setting, ferret collaring and locating in to cater for beginners and/or anyone new to this method of hunting to demonstrate the whole process. But for you pros there's underground footage and rabbits hitting purse nets in slow motion, the kind of thing you don't even get to see whilst out! My YouTube channel will primarily be based around kayaking but hope to get more ferreting videos up when in season. Watch in HD and have the volume up for the rabbit thunder.
  11. Looks good, ill need to try one of these longnets sometime. Do they take longer to set up?
  12. Nothing worse than setting long nets in the wind IMO
  13. 2 is fine. I sometimes use 3 on my stop nets so I can have an angle somewhere if needs be but mine are a little longer....
  14. Some are slender and others have a bit more girth. What measurements qualify a ferret as a greyhound?
  15. Hi guys, made this account to show my ferreting videos.
