cracking we team you v got there , aslong as you enjoyed it not alot else matters . how on earth your trainers are still white a dont know mines are wrecked if i go out the back in them lol .
its not totaly legal mate there aint alot of geese there but was half a dozen or so a few weeks ago its just an old pond up the back of leslie ( not one thats used for duck shooting) just houses alot of malard . was ferreting up the hazels the other day and on the way up 8am there was 20 geese in the first field we stalked upto abot 15 feet from them behind a hay bail would have easy got a head shot with a 22 . but were getting a shot of a 4 10 and we will get plenty close enough to hit the head .
just applyed for my sc struggling to get anywhere to shoot anything or that that all the
if any one has one of these near fife scotland im after one aswell , how much for postage on one of your anton ? sorry for stealing your thread scotty just when anton ses he has five or siz i didnt think you would take them all
he's inbetween not realy short but isnt long legged but he's pritty stocky the bitch is a normal size maybe just a bit bigger than your standard working whippet . as i say the had more the whippet shape when i saw them than the terrier as i have a 9 month old whippet who iv had from 6weeks and a 10 week old jrt who iv had from 6 weeks and id say at 3 weeks they were the size my jrt bitch is now and more whippet shaped head and leggs . if i pick mine up at the weekend ill post picks for the boy of the ones left as i forgot my camera the last time .
at the moment i have a run 10ft bye 6ft and one 12ft by 10ft the 10/6 one has the whippet and 6 month old jrt in it who has been out since he was 10 weeks i was going to put the other 2 pups out with them when i thought they were ready but to be honest the 10 week old jrt bitch is going mental constantly and i have to do the kids all day so iv put her in the cage now at nights and she screams all the time . will she be hardy enough to go out with the other 2 just now ? also will be getting another pup this weekend or the following and wasnt sure whether to put it strait out as its from outside
where in the north east are you mate im in the east of scotland if thats any use i would be willing to take you out morning lamp ferreting and with dog if you wished dont have anyone into it how i am here and im sick not getting out properly .
regards kris .
used to feed my racing greyhounds an egg each every morning with there cerial didnt harm them,2 done track records so didnt seem to do them any harm i now feed them one each every week or so not every week consecutivly but most weeks .
ive got permision to ferret 3 farms 4 woods and to shoot 2 of the farms and one of the woods with my 22 but not one of them will allow me a dog on the land even on the leash while shooting or ferreting. i also have 2 golf courses that im allowed to lamp but no one to lamp with my pups just learning and its crap having to train her and hold the lamp plus i cant hold her the lamp and shoot . its frustrating not being allowed her out with the ferrets to get her intrested tho . just keep trying iv been allowed on the farms i have since i was a todler . ill be moving away soon eather way donw south
got experience with bothe breeds but not with the cross im getting the bitch from the litter and have seen the pups they seem to be quite whippety in there shape . i would think they will turn out handy enough wee dogs and im sure with the training and time they will be quite able on the lamp and as a ferreting partner and bushing wont be a problem . im sure old charlie wouldnt be much hastle single handed eather as the father is a sturdy we tool so would say over all they will turn out awrite we working dogs aslong as you dont want something that will take a day light hare from a 100 yards or
i agree with jack why kc a pup and dock its tail for working ? for kc to be important you would have to be showing at a high level and i thought you couldnt show them with docked tails and if you were showing at a high level it wouldnt be worth working the dog incase the dog got damaged .... also would think if you got a pup 6-8 weeks old how it turned out to get on with kids etc would be all down to yourself .
never had much luck with shooting rabbits never get close enough for a head shot but would say it was possible with a fire arm but wouldnt be worth eating ?
