to be honest in my experience there is no right and wrong build or shape to a greyhound for eather coursing or track racing id say the coursing dogs are more gangly shaped if you know how i mean iv also owned a few coursing whippets and i can only say the same they seem to be more gangly more limy as in longer shaped limbs in comparison to the body its hard to explain exactly what i mean but at the end of the day iv seen tiny bitches 24" do track records from box three in an all scr race if its in the dog it will do it regardless of its size but in my opinion there is no huge diffrence in the

Quails, just out of the incubator
kreet replied to bigbulls's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
at what age do you cull them for the table then ? im considering getting an incubator but thought they were quite pricy any advice on where to get one at a decent price would be good. do you keep hens separate for the eating eggs so they are unfertile or do you keep them with a cock so as they are fertile ? im not too clued up on this sort of thing but im starting to get very intarested in self suficiancy and id like to have a go at this i used to have quail in the aviary floor but they would lay and the eggs would just be binned as the hens wouldnt sit on them . -
iv never thought about keeping rabbits for the pot didnt realy consider that it was still done to be honest but the threads on here of late have made me think about it . how do you feed them just as you would feed your normal pet rabbit ? just prepare it the same aswell ? regards kris

kreet replied to MissPimperella's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
wish i had the space to do this aswell , kids dont half put it away now they can eat like its just for fun and i mean that litraly my 4 year old daughter would sit and pick the meat of a chicken till her fingers fell of if id let her and will happily walk around and eat a few boild eggs as thow its sweets but i dont mind as id much rather thats what went into her than half the crap her friends eat. get some picks up of them once they are ready let us see how they turn out bud. regards kris. -

its irelavent what you are doing with the dog at the moment my point was that you made it more than clear your dog hit a stump and you run it like it never happend you should be greatfull that the dog is still alive never mind the fact you will still have years of work out of it . i agree totaly that if everyone packed in the nite when there dog took a little knock no one would ever be out but you have to know when to draw the line. regards kris.

i agree with the fact that if any dog of mine took a nock as seriouse as you talk about in the begining of this post id carry it back to the car and take it home the next day i would check the dog over and he wouldnt be worked for a week till i knew he was ok as already said any tiny thing that a few days rest would fix could end up killing your dog and as far as i believe you treat your dogs as you trea yourself if you ran at over 30mph into a solid lump almost as big as you would you just get up and run againe like there was nothing wrong ? fair enough you dont go home after every sill littl
