  1. Jacob, yes it is a good price. The painting took over 70 hours and the prints are very well done and expensive to have made in the first place. Nell, the lurcher print is on roughly A3 paper.
  2. This is the next in my series of working dog paintings. 40 pounds for a print, 10 with a mount and 5 for p&p Here's a close up of the rabbit and her head This is the other painting in the series (VWH Darius 04), prints available as above. Please do cilck to see the full image as there is detail missing in the small ones.
  3. Please do click to see the full image otherwise it looks a bit grainy.
  4. I have just started painting animal portraits, I painted this for our hunt's painting competition and rather liked it so I thought I'd have a go at having some prints made and see how they sell. This is VWH Darius 04, a fine art giclee print (archival inks or water colour paper) from my painting. A3 in size. Limited edition. I'm selling the prints at 40 pounds plus 4.50 p&p. I'm also doing commissions. Here are a few examples of my work. Please Visit My Website and pm of you're interested in either.

    TIME OF

What I was saying to LB was that Josie who has been so much better tempered recently, yesterday seems to have turned all horrible and moody and still is. Esme (Josie's best friend) the whippet went to lie down beside her and got snapped and snarled at. A child patted Nana and Josie tried to bite Nana. She snarled at everyone who came near here brekkie. Also she's been following me around like a shadow, grunting and crying.
  6. Josephine is mine. LB suggested I put a photo of her working as well so here you go:
  7. Tess is 19" and can jump five bar gates. This is the only photo I have, but she can jump a foot higher easily and about 2 foot higher if she can bank it.
  8. I am interested to know why you ask about Flaming Floyde?
  9. She's a rescue, and a bit difficult, but getting there. I'll be able to say more after Wednesday- her first night out this season.
  10. These are both 3/4 whippet 1/8 grey 1/8 beddie. The smooth one is almost 20" and 27lbs and the rough one is 22" and 35lb.

    unusual traits

My white bitch won't drink water out of a bowl either got to go outside and drink from ht ebottom of a bucket or simillar, so I thought I'd put a bowl outside to fill up with rain water, but she won't touch that either.

  13. Please don't delete me. I love it here and have learnt so much. It is just that I am not very experienced and normally don't feel I have anything to add.
  14. The same would work with an older dog?????
  15. I am looking to buy a new camera. I currently have a Canon EOS 50E and a Minolta Dimage z5. I love the pics from the canon, but obviously its not a digital, and I find I can't get good enough action shots with the Minolta as the shutter lag is so bad. The first point is I have some decent lenses for my old canon- the basic one is 24-85mm, the zoom is an Ultrasonic EF 75-300mm and the macro is a Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 macro super- and I was hoping that these will be compatible with the new camera. I have read that the lens that comes with the 350D is not good, and I hope that one of
  16. My white bitch licks the sofa and armchair too leaving huge wet patches too. Like ditch shitter's dog she does it in the evenings mainly too. I find it really irritating but it seems to make her happy.
  17. Not great, well crap actually, but I don't think that this is down to her breeding but her very bad start in life. She is mentally very weird, she love the chase but simply doesn't pick up, yet, but I have patience, and she is begining to show more interest. She is exceptionally obedient, but has absolutely no initiative. But again I strongly feel that these are down to her start in life and I truly hope that she'll get there with the working, but what ever happens she has a good home now .

As a 'newbie' myself I would really value some genuinely constructive criticism of my dogs. It is very hard to come by and I think essential to be able to learn for the future. Of course my dogs are perfect in my eyes, but in practice I am sure that they aren't and I'd love the know their good and bad points.
  21. Good point :11: I'd like the pups to be smooth coated around 20" for rabbiting. I also enjoy racing them in the summer so speed is important. The temperament is very important to me. Tess is very obedient, yet still very VERY full of spirit and highly intelegent.
  22. Here are a few more pics of her Racing this summer
  23. This is my whippet/beddie/grey bitch. I am hoping to breed from her on her next season which should be around next march. I am begining to think about what would be suitable to line her with. Her father is the Lynperry whippet stud Totty and her mother is a small lurcher- about 22" apparently 1/2 whippet 1/4 grey 1/4 beddie. She is very fast and intellegent, efficient on the rabbits and extremely obedient (retrives all her kills), I haven't tried her on anything other than rabbits. However, and equally important for me, she is a house dog and extremely kind and loving. I have 3 home
  24. My 4 are under 23" and I have never seen anything bigger work, so I don't really have anything to compare them with, but of the two that work, one (22"whippet, beardie, grey cross)has no problem on muntjac, and the other is very keen on foxes (but I keep her away from them, as I don't reckon that she is as strong as she thinks she is- 19" beddie whippet) both are fast agile and efficient on rabbits.
