I was Bored so I thought id type this up, I've been doing a lot of wandering on mine own these last couple of nights after work, promised myself I was gonna keep the bitch right after end of the season and try have another good season lamping her this winter. She's 6 year old and hand on heart she was a good bitch. Not a world beater but a very honest dog that would try as hard on her 1st as her 3rd or 4th. I bought the bitch as a very young lad, from a lad Local out of a pure saluki he bred off fairboy to a bitch him and his dad ran made up of mainly saluki/grey with added bedlington and deer

Thank for the info and the advice lads, gonna work v hard on things with him over the summer try and calm him down and hopefully he ll mature. Then We get things sorted for September when it all starts again... I share a strong bond with the dog recall retrieve jumping is all too and above the standard I require with my dogs, just can't get my head round the bullying me thing lol but only time will how he turns out atb

It don't work like that , I don't confront pups for expressing natural canine behaviour , if you manage them and don't hyper excite them they're not half as worked up , when you excite you ignite The puppy stage is not the right time for confronting a emotionally driven pup, the pup may need to bite it's programmed to bite when we confront that urge we cause a kink in its expression , maybe not in the next few months but it will show at maturity when we want to work hand to mouth with it I have never had a biting dog ever not as much as a growl or a white eye look , I manage pups and ch

Thanks for the advice, I think I do need to do more too be assertive with him. I do tend to be firm but fair, he's gotten away with a lot more shit than I would take in the past but maybe I'm softening up lol. He's recall and everything else is bang on, just sometimes he seems over top aggressive but not in a nasty way if that makes sense. He doesn't take p*ss just bites like feck lol Sorry for hijacking the thread laddylurcher, she's a fine young pup, nice to no I'm not the only with a phyco dog lol

I agree mate problem is he's a big dominant dog and I would say he is probably the top dog within my group. So does that mean he should be put into his place by me? And to put in nicely I should take less crap

I had a similar problem when my young dog was a pup. I got him very young and I think he missed a lot of playing with his siblings, he was the biggest in litter and most boysterous. He then turned to biting me, the mrs my sisters instead. He got very bad, I asked vets for some instruction when he was jabbed and even now at 12 months as soon as he sees another dog or something that stimulates him I find him hanging off my sleeve or fingers. He's hangs off my other saluki x and the Labrador when they out. I wouldn't suggest he was an aggressive dog either but I think he's lacked a firm hand.

belle had 2 litters too barneyt I think the second litter produced 5/6 really top class bitches including Rosie reddy etc . I think she went too Ozzie once? Produced bulldozer, tuco, cj Molly etc I heard she produced a forley winner in every litter. This breeding been very well tested, good luck Jamie hope she breeds you a topper mate.
