I have took out rabbits when I went with my mate years ago but his dad set the gun up etc, this is the first time I'm out on my own. I'm confident I can hit what I shoot but obviously sometimes it goes abit wrong. That's what a back up gun is for lol. I'm confident in my shooting, I been hitting the targets pretty well.

The uk is just a soft dump. He will come back here get put in prison in a solitary gaurded cell and treated well. If it was up to me I'd hang, draw and quater him live on tv as a message for those who are thinking of committing treason. Don't worry tho, with dave at the helm the uk will be fine.

Getting Your Shots Accurate?
Chris Harrison replied to Chris Harrison's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Cheers guys Got myself abit of land to shoot on now so me and my mate can practice over there on targets. Got my permission paperwork for him to sign. Ill try it doing 5 shots then instead of the couple, makes more sence to do that -
i wish my mrs dogs were that good but a rottie and bullmastiff dont make good retrievers . one would eat the duck and the other just sit there looking at you then have a nap. one of my mrs guinea pigs had died so i put it in the garden and said to the mastiff to fetch... he went and got his ball. great to see a dog do its job though, and it looks like theres nomore shrubs and barbwire now either for you

hi all how do you go about getting your scope accurate? where i bought my gun from he said he had set it all up and was good to go. i fired the gun and the pellet was to high and to the left of the target. so i had a play about until i was hitting atleast the 9 ring but some of that was wind and me pulling the rifle now and again. any tips? im not happy until i can hit the middle but with a spring gun you obviously cant keep sight of the target while reloading so each shot is a fresh start. probably a stupid question but you dont know till u ask

Finding It Hard Getting Permissions
Chris Harrison replied to Chris Harrison's topic in Young Hunters Talk
the first one was a farmer i know abit from going round to buy hay etc and i thought he owned all the feilds behind his farm but he dont, only the ones he has livestock in, thats ok fair enough. i went to a huge fruit farm by me today to ask if i can shoot. walked up to the owner and said excuse me sir i was wondering if i could have use of your land to use airguns and do abit of pest control and target practice with paper targets. he said they dont have people on the land to do shoots. got a few other people who are friends of friends etc. i only want a field to shoot on for god sake -
Hi all I'm 24 and finding it hard to get permission to shoot on land. Maybe they just see a young guy wanting to pop about with a gun I dunno. Any young folk on here get their own permissions and how many times did you get a no before the long awaited yes?

I cut a bit of double sided tape the size on a 10p and got 3 out 5 pellets in one but I think it was the wind that took the other two and I got 4 out of 5 on my next go but the one i missed I pulled the gun for some reason. Still I think that was pretty good shooting with this gun -

Im not goin out looking to blow an animals head off mate lol. Im after a clean kill in that dept. I just like seeing things destroyed with targets. Eg fruit is good. Its fun. Try it, when u see a mouldy plum smash its quite fun. Might just be me i dunno. -
As usual, you always get the right information when you come on here. I would add that now you know what is on the general licence, make sure you can group your pellets inside a 10p piece at all of your hunting ranges before going on the hunt to kill God's critters. My shootings decent mate its just the law i wanted to check up on. Im confident i could take a rabbit out cleanly with a head shot

I was on about a stray cat really. We don't get fox problems they can't get over the fence. I'm not going to shoot a cat before anyone says anything, I was just asking experienced people on here incase there's a loop hole in the law or something saying if a mangy thing comes on your land your entitled to get rid or something.

Theeee random'ist thing Ive read on here. Haha. Surely someone's tried it? If your hunting meat then shooting a piece is a good test? I used to hit strawberries and grapes with my mrs dads. Something about watching something get destroyed when target practice make it more exciting I think. Paper targets are ok but holes in paper ain't fun. -

Going for a shoot later with my mate in his garden Had an idea of buying an out of date shoulder of pork so I can see how deep the pellet goes. I like to turn things into an experiment haha. Couldn't get one from Asda though -
Hi all I'm new to all this and was wondering whats the largest animal you can shoot with an air rifle? I was told once you could shoot foxes but since seeing the bit on the rules on here I now see that was a bids fat lie. Is a rabbit the largest animal? Also on your property or someone's property eg a house with large garden what can you shoot? When does an animal become a pest?

i dont think they are goin to use live animals in shows pal no but they can show how a gun dog does its job at retrieving, that sort of thing is interesting. im a big fan of "if you dont like something dont go and watch" if people dont like the country way of life or the natural way to catch food then they dont have to pay to go see it. i belive a country show should show everything to do with country life and hunting. they can simulate most things so people get the idea of whats happening. i wasnt saying we should throw a bull in a ring and a few mastiffs or anything lol -

what do they show? i went to a country fair down devon years ago that was good, had a fox hunting display on in the show ground. stalls with food and game on etc. im guessing the old animal welfare people have got the show by the bollox and they cant actually show an animal doing its job?
