  1. Got some lovely grey partridge feathers from forum member leslie which I dyed up and tied a few mayfly patterns using both french partridge and grey partridge. Thanks for coming to my assistance leslie, very kind of you. Will send you a few flies in the new year. William.
  2. Thank you very much Leslie, greatly appreciated. I'll pm you the details. Cheers, william.
  3. Air gun ant, thanks a million for the very kind offer but yep it is the grey partridge that I'm after. The red legs are used in fly tying all right but they are plentiful over here and my shooting mates are always kind enough to source me a few. Different types of feather on the greys which are used in lots of old traditional fly patterns. Thanks again though for taking the time to offer your help.
  4. Hi there. Looking for a few english partridge skins (3-4) to dye up and use for fly tying. I have a few friends who shoot here in Ireland but it is mainly pheasant and woodcock so I've no access to english partridge. Of course would pay P&P and for the skins or perhaps tie some flies in exchange. I mainly tie traditional irish lough patterns for trout/sea trout and salmon and I don't sell my flies so maybe a chance for a fly fishing game keeper out there to enter into a beneficial trade! Thanks in advance.
  5. A great tune. Just never really got going for him after a lot of early promise.
  6. Delta Lukki is a good spinning bait in different weights 7/10/12/16 gr depending on circs. You can get them on ebay fairly cheaply.
  7. That is a very generous offer from you Mr. Thomas. I'm new to this site and like it already. I agree its best to avoid skimping on flies as it is probably a false economy. I bought a lot of cheap flies at the start and ended up binning most of them after they started disintegrating after a few casts.
  8. Lovely conditioned fish, nice and broad. Well done.
  9. Hello all, new member from Ireland. Mad keen fisherman and fly tyer and probably just a matter of time before the shooting starts!
