  1. Thank you I hope so to..... She really does brighten up my day, even on her shredding days lol
  2. You quote me perfectly...... Minus the whatever of course....... Goodnight Mr socks
  3. I don't see the need for one the dog has a perfectly good coat on its body already and it's hardly cold is it ... All that coat will do is stop the dogs natural coat from getting weather resistant and nice and thick and potentially cause the dog to overheat ....... Ah well this is where you have made assumptions about how she wears her coat and what part of the country I live in....... She has started to wear her coat just this week as its been as low as minus, plus it's intending use is for curb walks......... secondly when we are on the mountains and she runs free she will b
  4. Impeccable manners, not....Counter surfing........ Caught red handed!
  5. Haha...She walks at my side with a slack lead with a harness on... pulls like a train using her collar...... Had a staff do exactly the same years ago I''ve never used a harness before... A friend recommend I try it to see if she would pull less.. and it worked a treat! She's pretty good off the lead, runs flat out for a little while then walks slightly out front of me.... She definitely hasn't been blessed with the graceful run of a whip/grey, she's very gangly and heavy footed haha She'll grow out of the gangly heavy footed stuff, well certainly the gangly stage

  8. Lol socks..... I take it you don't approve of a working dog in a raspberry coloured coat..... Awe we are girls after all
  9. Hi everyone... As promised on a previous post here's an update on the pup I rescued..... Miss summer AKA the shredder! Below are the most recent photos of her (less than a week). She's currently standing at 19" tts.. And weighs 13.4k The burning questions I have as always are: what do you think her mix is? How much bigger do you think she will get? She has a short coat, flat about 1 inch in length with some fanning on the tail, neck and flanks.... So my guess is Collie/whippet/greyhound? I look forward to reading yr responses Cheers
  10. Not sure how much longer she will be able to snuggle with her house mates....... Bless them
  11. its no big deal for most people, but, my rescue lurcher has started to wag her tail when she sees family members..... aaah i think its safe to say shes become happier with her life... her eyes are brighter and shes putting on weight.... fab break through for us all

Another month on and she's coming lovely, she's blending like she's always been here and there is definitely an improvement regarding her emotional wellbeing and overall health..... Don't know why I didn't rescue a lurcher sooner ❤

  12. One week on and summer is looking much better...... Still a long way to go to get her to tip top condition, but we are going in the right direction ??
  13. Cheers for that..... I'll try to find the post and have a read of it....
  14. Thanks guys.... Really appreciate yr time and advice..... I can't afford to get this wrong.....
  15. She's Sat on my lap as I attempt to type...... she's a cracker, and I'm sure she's going to make a fab adult.... My only hope is I get her to recall, I've heard so many stories of them running off..... We walk the mountains with our Jack russels most days so hopefully we can get her used to the livestock that roam freely........ I don't intend to let her off until I'm happy she will recall..... so far she's very obedient.... But she's yet to fully find her feet.......
  16. I plan to do regular updates on her progress over the next 12mths.... I have no doubt I'm going to need more advice as she matures.....I walk the mountains regularly, so it'll be interesting to see how much prey drive she has......hmm.. Any advice regarding recall training?? Anyone?
  17. I don't like to blow my own trumpet, but she definitely has landed on her feet with me..... She was a lot leaner when I got her, all legs and no body weight.... She's going to take some building up, slow and steady is the best... Her coat lacks luster at the moment, probably due to poor nutrition, fleas and worms... I want to do the best I can for her, that's why I posted on here today, I want as much advice as possible regarding the breed/type of dog.... I've dealt with two Jack Russell's, a lurcher shoudnt prove too challenging for me (famous last words eh!). She's obedient for her age, tha
  18. Evening Joe, I plan on keeping her as a pet only, I may show her if she continues to be obedient.... She's living with me, my teens and two Jack russels, she's exposed to plenty of noise and visitors, she's not at all nervous... In fact she's quite the little character..... She's a joy to be around....She's amazing considering her shakeup start in life....... Thank you Joe
  19. If its been in a rescue centre for 6 weeks and looks like that the place wants shutting down.Worm it,flea it,get plenty of small and often meals into it,give it a warm dry bed and a little care and education, then you will have done as much as you can, good luck. She's on four meals a day at the moment.... I've done the worming and flea treatments.... She was infested with worms! She's definitely thriving now.... Thank you for the sound advice
  20. Cheers for yr input.... In the short time I've had her (2wks) she's put on almost 4lb and grown an inch.... I can't believe how rapid she's growing, said to hubby this morning, Crickey I think she's going to be huge! (mind you I've only ever had small breeds) Probably just a grown spurt.... She's adoreable! I'm excited to see how sheturns out..... She's on wainwrights puppy food at the moment and topping her up with chicken and salmon with rice or pasta.... She's a right starver!
  21. Yeah she definitely had a bad start, some twisted bad minded person tied her in a carrier bad and hung her off a fence post at the rescue centre... I was originally after a whippet but I couldn't pass her by, the poor girl needed a decent home.. I'm hoping she's not going to stand too tall, but it matters not, I'll love her regardless.. thank you for responding, appreciate yr input
  22. Thank you Rob.... She's a lovely girl, very obedient already... She's settled well with my two Jack russels... I don't have plans to work her, she's a family pet... I May do some shows with her in the future?
