Don't have great pics since she's always moving. She's coming up on 8 months I believe.

the whippet/pat is the dog closest..a big one can probably get to 20 lbs or so. Most are probably 12 to 15.

Unfortunately I don't have the knowledge of what you guys have over in the UK to compare to what we have. They can get quite big--I have some pictures, but don't know if I'm allowed to post? What I do know, in my limited experience, they are the best test for a dog in the area where I'm at (east coast). The settes are complicated, can get very tight, and they put up a good fight. They can also back fill and trap a dog. Because of these different factors, for me, they are a great quarry to test our dogs on.

My little patterdale/whippet here in the USA. She's about 14 inches tts. Been on coon, possum, groundhog, rabbits and squirrels.

There's some good guys around doing earth work with terriers. I'm in South Carolina, I'm only a couple years in to this, so very much a newbie, but get out as often as I can. My dogs have been on possum and groundhog in the ground--still haven't gotten a coon yet. Mudcat on here has some good white dogs. As far as hunting terriers in the US, many use patterdales, JRT, jagdterriers, and mixes of any or all. Whatever works, depending on the quarry and size of the settes in the area, and what you want to do. Most guys seem to adjust their dogs and hunting styles to whatever quarry they ar

Probably around 12 lbs or so, I need to measure them again, but I'd probably put them at around 14-15". Solid little dogs though. The mother is mostly patt with a little bit of pit and jagd in her. The dad had about 1/8 pit in him, and was maybe only around 20-22 lbs.

I've got a couple of whippet x patt pups that are super fun. About 6 months now. Just started them on mice/rats, and they'll go in a hole. Fun little dogs for sure.

LOL I'm just trying to put up a couple pics of a couple of my dogs. We do hunt coon, groundhog and possum here. The dogs above have only been on possum and coon, but I've gone out with others for groundhog. No claims as to these being the greatest workers or me being an expert. I've not been doing this very long, and neither have those dogs...Foxdropper's observations are correct! No big deal...

Short dig today. This JRT has really surprised me...he was a stray that my friend found and passed along to me. He was extremely overweight when I got him, so he's been on a serious diet. I figured he was just a house dog, (and maybe he was), but he seems to work pretty well. Still a little too big for most settes around me. My Patt--LOVE this girl. Hasn't failed me yet, and small enough to get pretty much anywhere. Sorry for the bad picture quality.

Yup. Actually the russell is a stray a friend of mine found and gave me last week. He's too big for what we hunt in the ground here, but a nice dog. He's fat, so I'm thinning him down, and we'll see what he can do/where he can fit, when he's in shape. Here, we hunt groundhogs, raccoon and possum.
