  1. The customers won't like the bill how long it would take to use traps, air gun & dogs only on an infestation. An integrated system of traps & bait works for me & if I can pick a few off with the dog I will (must be the right situation, not on a commercial premise).
  2. I got given a load of nets by an old gamekeeper. 30 pegged nylon (green & Reds). 3 unpegged. A carrier bag full of 15 + tangled nylon nets (I haven't got time to untangle them). If you message me your number I can send some pics, the finishing on the ring is not great but they will definitely do their job. They are taking space up in the shed so message me if you're interested.
  3. Before anyone says it, I probally done that by myself
  4. I stand corrected, yes I forgot about butterfly's but I'm not wrong about bees! Insects aren't really my thing. Thank you for correcting me mr. Darcy and making look a dickhead at the same time lol.
  5. The only law and legislation on bees, is regarding honey bees, IF a nest must be treated (this must be last resort), all possible entrances and exits need to be sealed, to stop other foraging honey bees from other hives transferring any chemicals. Ridiculously bumbles aren't protected. They make me laugh bee keepers because as soon as you say bumble nest they don't want to know but they will tear apart your house to get to a honey bee nest. They will tell everyone bees are protected, the only protected insect in the UK is the stag beetle.
  6. Hello Maria, I also live on Sheppey, I suspect the gill was probally stolen, there's a man I know who has been a lifelong ferreter called fred (the ferret) two weeks ago he had his whole lot nicked (they are dirty b*****ds round here). If you don't get here I've got one hobb left over from my litter I would be more than happy to give him to your daughter. You can't tell anyone round here that you have ferrets.
  7. Depends where the rats are if they're inside I jump straight on the broadifcoum paste and it absolutely knocks them bandy. I like the whole grain diffenacoum bait by pel gar for outside, I've never had any problems but I know some people do struggle with it.
  8. Permethrin as a whole is an agitant, that's why I'd pick ficam anytime. Can't afford for the wasps getting pissed off and stinging a customer.
  9. Had a lot of mxy down my way. It's funny you say about the black rabbit bob. A neighbour (who was known as everyone by me as the poacher), years ago caught a black one & the whole day after that, they didn't see another rabbit bolt. We was out ferreting about 4 years ago a black one bolted and he went "joner! Joner! Joner! I ain't touching that, f**k that!", ha ha made me laugh.
  10. Depends what you are doing... Ferreting on a Sunday for a bit of sport, to work the ferrets and have a nice day out with a few "Pugging pals" OR ferreting for pest control, which is paid work & every single rabbit counts. If it's a bit of my brief that I go to on a Sunday and enjoy my ferreting at a leisurely pace, yeah I do let them go. If it's the latter, I don't hold no prisoners
  11. Good comment uncle pesta, I thoroughly agree with what you've said. I do think if you say to the customers you do free call backs, the customers will take the piss and get their pounds worth, end of the day it's just human nature
  12. Yeah I always make sure they don't Hoover and explained to them it will cost them more. I know no insecticide can penetrate the eggs. That's why I say make sure rooms that aren't used that much are used more now, hoping the vibrations will make any dormant eggs hatch.
  13. It's a first for me, to get a phonecall the very next day. The customer said there's still loads (probally two or three then)
  14. I done a job yesterday with some alpha pro & I had the customer ringing back the next day saying I've seen some fleas, never had it the next day but they haven't seen any today, very strange.
  15. Yeah I saw it is sx's new catalogue and I thought sounds a bit cheap. I used to do free call backs and inevitably most jobs "needed" a second spray (just customers getting their pounds worth), now I charge for a second treatment I hardly get any problems.
  16. I had some sx alpha pro on the van and decided to give it ago on fleas & both jobs I had call backs in a few weeks. So that well put me off it. I'll give that a go dido.1 one thanks mate
  17. Do you buy the jar or the sachets of ficam W
  18. I usually use stingray, which I find pretty effective but it is a bit pricey, I've been looking at getting some Vulcan sc, have any of you lot used it? Bit jubious as it doesn't contain an Igr, but it's nearly half the price & fleas are pretty busy for me atm so the cheaper the product the better

    Moles

I had about 10 moles I threw out in the field by me (which is inhabited by a lot of foxes, owls & other birds of prey) & they stayed there for about a week. So I don't think they are that tasty.
  20. Yeah I've watched them too, not bad
  21. I've had a lot of fleas and a lot of rats for the summer months. Had a squirrel job come in 2 days ago aswell ( yet to catch the bugger). The wasps have been very disappointing, to be fair I haven't noticed as many wasp only firms advertising this year
  22. 18 I've let the dogs have now and I've seen untold run over, sad to see, it's going to be a bad ferreting season down my neck of the woods.
  23. Please correct me if I'm wrong fleas transfer mxy from rabbit to rabbit. Walking the dogs on a little bit of brief I've got & the dogs have had 3 mxy rabbits. Fleas in general this year have been mad for me, I dunno about you lot? If the flea population is the worst it has been for a long time obviously mxy is going to thrive, so this could do some real damage to the rabbit population this year. Not what I want to see
  24. I know it effects the central nervous system and paralyses the body. So probally does in the end stop the breathing
