  1. P.S it is the one i have been shooting so i know it fits nicely and i can shoot with it
  2. I have got the chance to get a browning ultra xs sportier with ported barrels and adjustable stock for around £1400 seems like a good deal to me, anything to look out for?
  3. Yes i have been out a few times with a friend he has a beretta 682 gold e and a browning ultra xs, i have been using the browning because his fav is the beretta, i have probs only put 30-40 shots through the browning in the last few trips out but i like it, its a solid gun but i find it slightly nose heavy, today i had a few practice shots on his beretta since there were no rabbits about and nothing flying except a bird of prey and i found this to be easier to handle and was very accurate at what i was aiming at, i would have to say it was my fav out of the 2 guns so i think i might up my bu
  4. Thanks for the advice, might give it a go sounds worth a try but yeah chambers is the only place really i found to buy a barrel
  5. Thankyou all for the advise and info, i went to my LGS a couple of days ago and picked up a few guns but the sales guy was just that and wasn't exactly super helpful, maybe because i am waiting on my licence and couldn't buy one yet but still i have had better service at McDonald's I have been told by a few people that ladds of crediton are very helpful but i can only get there on Friday after work since it is their only late opening night and they don't open weekends so i will rush round there after work this Friday and see whats what. I keep flip flopping on the o/u or semi dilemma i
  6. I'm not dead set on a semi i just like the idea of them, thought the extra shot could make the difference on a difficult target and the weight is nice on them. I am applying shotgun and rifle licences i already know I'm getting a 17 hmr but the shot gun is whats causing an issue there just seems like so many different things to bring into account. It might sound a bit snobbish but i have always thought if you are buying something better to buy the best you can afford than buy cheap and buy twice, thats why i put my budget down but seeing someone had a good shotgun for £60 has got me th
  7. I thinking about either getting a new rifle or changing the barrel on my hw95 but before i do wanted to know what you thought of .20 for a hunting caliber? I have used .22 in every gun i have had but after seeing a few .177 shots got me thinking what about a middle of the road caliber, is it worth using or is it best to stick with a .22?
  8. Hi i am relatively new to shotgun hunting and need advise on what guns to look at, my only experience with shot gun is using a friends browning xs Here are some more details to help narrow down my search: 1) budget of around £1000 can push up to £1200 if it will really buy a much better gun 2) i will mainly be hunting with it, pigeons/rabbits the odd fox possibly, but will do clays with it every now and again 3) not a fan of synthetic/fake wood stocks 4) over under seems like the best maintenance wise but semi auto is appealing just worried because i have see reviews about
  9. Will be used mainly to gut/skin rabbits and take the breast meat off pidgeon. I was hoping for something that holds a nice edge, i have had knives before that lose an edge so fast i just as well taken a spoon to do the job! One that cost around £30 would be great allthough if it cost up to £50 it wouldn't be bank breaking? Any suggestions would be great
  10. Hi, I'm ruster i am only a noob hunter at the moment i use an air rifle sub 12ft lbs, but shortly i will be gaining access to enough land to get a fac hopefully and will most likely get a 17 hmr to start off with as i think that will be plenty powerfull enough, then maybe an upgrade when i know the land better and decide to stalk bigger game
