  1. I can see the point in them when you have snakes etc to worry about. But can't see the point in a raised kennel and run in the UK. Raised beds are a different matter. All my beds are raised. Keeps them off the concrete and easy for me to rinse down every day.
  2. Your better off asking on Gumtree, or Facebook or one of the other sites. Most lads on here wouldn't put a dog over a pet. Well they shouldn't anyway..... Not a dig just saying.
  3. Iv never really had a choice. I trust the lads iv had pups gifted off. I don't think I'd fancy picking my own out of a litter.
  4. Yappy whining dogs that are pegged out on a dig. I can't stand it. Especially when out with someone new and its there dog but they don't seem to hear the f***ing thing yapping!
  5. depends on your huntsman. Mine knows when I have pups to start things are going to take a little longer. But I think it helps that he used to be a terrierman so he knows the score.
  6. So all you lads that are against a harder type dog for what ever reason. Do you not ever put a hard type into your line of bayers? Are you not worried that those bayers will soon become Jibbers?
  7. 2 and a half hours is a bloody long time for a dogs first try Pablo. I personally wouldn't be giving up on him after him showing. Let's just hope you didn't sicken him
  8. As said baying in an empty earth would be hard to overlook. But I think most mistakes can be forgiven in the first season. But the dogs age and maturity needs to be taken into consideration aswell. Alot of lads give up on a dog after a poor first encounter. There not machines at the the end of the day.
  9. I'll try one aswell pal if you knock a few up.
  10. I wouldn't fancy more then one dog on the yard with bitches around. Asking for trouble. and when the bitches are in season I question why I bother keeping a dog because he is a nightmare.
  11. Do you get much trouble with them fighting mate. Or do you think the absence of bitches keeps the peace?
  12. Rabbit hunter. Do you keep several dogs on the yard?
  13. I think it depends on how many you keep and what your goal is. Obviously if you want to keep a line going you have to have bitches. But if you just get out now and again and your not bothered about breeding then I can see the benefits of just keeping dogs.
  14. Any reason Neil or just find them easier to keep
  15. Just reading through the topic on the Lurcher section and wondered what you lads work and why? I have both in Kennels personally but only keep one dog on the yard. Rest are bitches.
  16. I like the red brick. And I can't fault it as yet. The problem with barryvox or any other manufacturers apart from B&F if something goes wrong with it they won't replace it. Unless you say it broke on some snowy mountain top whilst you were trying to locate someone under the snow!
  17. I reckon they realised they were to hot to handle. Top result.
  18. Strange that, 2 bitches I was down for pups from didn't take this summer.
  19. Iv got one that used to drag the vet bed out every day so the twat is on rubber matting now. The rest leave it alone.
  20. Do you lads that use shavings not find you end up with shit loads in the runs. Especially when you have dogs with a jacket it must stick to them when there in and out of there bed boxes. Id be worried about to much going down the drain.
  21. I used to use straw but changed to vet bed. Easy to keep clean and keeps them warm. Alot less hassle then shavings and straw.
